This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Toyota Tacoma

Hello everyone,
I am thinking of buying a Tacoma when I get enough money and I was just wondering if anyone here had any thoughts about how good/bad of a truck it is. Everyone I've talked to so far has told me its a great vehicle but thats about ten people and I'd like a slightly wider scope of opinions. So if you have any opinion whatsoever then feel free to tell me, because I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks

Sure buy it, I've seen commercials and it looks pretty awesome!

as life goes on we must confide in ourselves the energy to be self-reliant. No one will help us...

Toyotas are good trucks

I'll agree with Wolfy there. Toyota makes quality vehicles. My dad recently got a Camry XLE and it's very nice. One thing to consider whenever purchasing a car is how many officially sponsored/licensed dealerships and repair shops there are. If there's only one dealership where you are it would probably be best to look for another brand as monopolies tend to breed bad service.

I agree with the above post. My friend used to have a Dodge, and there was only one dodge dealer around my area.

Everytime something went wrong he had to take it there. Of course since they were the only Dodge dealer in the area, they charged an arm and a leg for services.

In the end he got rid of it.

get a toyota hilux, ive seen a guy smash it into trees, drown it, drop a caravan onto it, set it alight and smash it with a wrecking ball that would bring down the empire state building. All that did was dent it a bit, the thing was still working.

no insult to intended toward good old american build quality, but if toyota there is anything like it is here you won't be relying on your aftersales agent too much. unfortunately and perhaps even more insulting, i don't personally think the ones produced in europe are as consistantly bulletproof as those built in japan.

i have lots and lots and lots and......of experience with toyota and usually when they do break the first and usually last thing to check for is driver misuse

then again, people here mistake reliability for lack of imagination and buy other brands just 'cause they have a cooler image or a butch name like bronko, blazer, or canyonaroooo --- yee haaw, so sad. ( 10 bonus points for guessing that cartoon before next weeks FL quiz )

Toyota? Bah! Go for a decent car, like nice Volvo. Just remember that in order to drive a Volvo you must have a driving cap and a tweed jacket with leather patches .

Volvo eh...Actually I would rather walk And I'd take a Honda before any Toyota, except if we're talking about trucks...which we are...

Hell, I know it's no pickup but if you want something really rugged go for a Jeep. My old lady had a Cherokee for years....We hardly ever used the 4WD in cross country terrain although I tried to persuade her to join a 4WD club but then she sold it and bought a Subaru legacy. You may laugh but I always start when I see an American built truck or car around NZ. Most of ours are jap imports or european things and the American ones are 10 times wider, longer, taller and have more grunt. They seem to take up the whole road.

And wellll, if you ever have enough money you should buy a Hummer or Humvee or whatever they're called. Some guy in Christchurch has got one or did and it takes up the whole side of the road. Friking scary when you're driving around it though lol
