We all have ''em...

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

We all have ''em...

I was pondering my own situation recently, and I was wondering if anyone has eccentric relatives. Has anyone seen the movie "The Castle"? Well the cousins on my mother's side of the family are just like that. They they have more cars than they know what to do with, a fixation with cars of all varieties, especially Jaguars, and have a habit of spending inordinate amounts of time browsing the "Trading Post" searching for useless second-hand items. That's just the tip of the iceberg as they say, and the other side of the family involves a number of people with only a shaky grasp of reality, sitting around muching enormous chunks of lamb from the obligatory roast, while a young cousin runs around the house screaming and brandishing a hammer. To top it all off, my aunt sits in a dark corner with a small over-fed dog on her lap muttering pearls of wisdom such as "I wish the boat had sunk while we were on it, then we'd never be stuck in this god-forsaken country..." Of course comments like that above are only available on a good day; they get far worse ('I hope you all choke on your dinner!') . That's just a small sample of my family, does anyone else have any interesting family-related anecdotes to share?

My mother in-law has this "space cadet" for a boyfriend...F*** buddy...roomate...i have NO idea what he is...but he is BEYOND strange...

He sleeps all day....at 4pm when the in-law arrives from work he immdeiately asks.."whats for dinner?"...never cleans, has no job, lives in his room, leaves ONLY to eat Wendy'd food, ONLY buys "second hand" computer parts, and thinks the ENTIRE world "stinks"......he got a job 5 years ago....hit his head "accidentally" and lived off the workers comp for 3 years!!! now is going back to work since ALL the insurance and workers comp money is gone....NEVER pays a bill, never helps the mother in-law...but she won't kick him out and spends inordinate amounts of money on his guitar collection....strange? i think so.

I don't have any painfully eccentric family members. My maternal grandmother is a bit on the strange side sometimes, though. She has some very odd ideas about the way the world works and it's 100% impossible to have a meaningful discussion about them. As soon as you make a point against her she just changes the subject. I've come to call this style "tangential debating". And boy does she ever love to talk. Last night she phoned up and said something along the lines of "I'm not going to keep you for long" and then proceeded to yammer on about my job for half an hour. Go figure.

does a grown uncle with all of the usual responsibilities of age, who spends most of his free time in a back room of the house playing a space game of some sort count as being eccentric? if so i think my neices and nephews have and eccentric uncle!

i suppose my point is that yuor relatives ain't eccentric but rather eccentric is relative

All my relatives are rednecks, they spend hours at the Wal-Mart buying stuff they don't know what to do with and then hang it on the walls or in one of their several barns as a decoration. I think I saw them using some PC66 RAM as a paperweight because they had no clue what it was. Oh, and the singing just gets bad after the thirtieth song about your truck breaking down, your girl leaving you and taking the dog and the shotgun. Country music just sounds like crap unless it comes from a professional, when it sounds like crap that costs money.

Christmas, is that a BF1942 mod or something?

Hmm not that I can think off...unless my family consider me eccentric...but I dont think so

When I had a lot of money I was eccentric. Now I'm just insane and my ex-wife is eccentric.

I'm so old, I get to spend the holidays only with people I like.

This means all my relatives are dead.
