there simply has to be extraterrestrial life. its all down to the probability of the stuff. there's more galaxies than there ever were people on earth (and thats alot) look at it this way. even today, there are people with the rarest of diseases. but are they alone? no. there still are a few others out there who have that same disease. technically speaking, we're a uber-rare disease to the planets. but seeing the sheer numbers, there has to be at least a couple hundred more out there that are breeding their own definition of life.
out of those couple hundred, some may be in infant stages, some in middle, some far into extremely complex development.
i read an
article about 'inteligent design' which
“intelligent design,” which holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by an unspecified higher power.
mods can delete this part out if they feel it teeters towards religion, but i have to say, any sort of individual 'higher power' would never reach the capability required to create something as complicated as the universe, save for nature itself, and by chance.
back to thoughts on aliens, like i said, there has to be at least a few species on a similar level of intelligence as we are. i'm actually understating, given the odds. i woudln't be suprised if we find at least 2 intelligent species in every galaxy. the number of solar systems in our galaxy alone, though undiscovered, given the number of stars, has to be ALOT. given the chances, people, if anything were impossible, it's for extraterrestrial life to not exist. if that were true, i'd hate to live in such a lonely place where ultimately, we're consumed by stupidity.
