20 Questions- an experiment in AI

Linky link
Think of something. The AI tries to guess what it is with questions.

My first ones were power (he never really guessed it), door (25 questions, or something near), sword (about 20ish questions), (EDIT - surely that's not a swearword It's a perfectly acceptable term, it's in any dictionary you can name and half the population has one!) ***** (he never guessed it, but very close). Nazi it never got, although it got close (it guessed fool, then cannibal ).
What do you guys think?

Communist: didn't get it after 30 questions.

Could you have been thinking of...
an idiot
a midget
a liar
a clown
a policeman
an ex-wife
Jesus Christ - son of God
a beetle
a crossdresser
a christian
a thief
a vegetarian

I added "a communist" to it's list of known objects.

its not really true AI, it doesn't "learn" in the AI sense - it gathers information into a database and re-uses them for future questions. I beat it with "plug" - why? simple really, a plug can be all shapes and sizes, mechanical, non-mechanical, all colours, it can have an LED, no LED etc etc. Its such a broad potential, yet so common, I knew that someone would have already fed it incorrect information.

This is the most important reason why it is NOT AI.....at the end it discovered that we had contradicting information. Someone had already fed it with "plug" incorrectly and it told me how their answers contradicted mine. BUT, and this is very important, it didn't ask why. There was no facility to explain, so it shows no sign of intelligence.

True AI learns from its mistakes.

neat proggy. it guessed comp keyboard after 20 questions. but it didn't get beetle, but i didn't have an extensive knowledge of that. it was close. went on about grasshoppers and crabs.

@Gromit- It can only learn from it's mistakes if it knows it's wrong. Also, it only knows what it's been told.
