Anyhoo, this I my "Dragged himself back to the computer" thread

Sorry for being gone so long, my house burnt down, it was annoying...

What else... hmmm... er..

Note: Yes, I was, in fact, gone

What else happened to me recently?

Hmm....

Nope, nothing.

Car's still stuck into the ground a mile from home...

I need a new house... hopefully they'll finish building it soon... living in a shack's terrible, and the roof leaks

Well, I suppose that's all I have to say for myself

Funny thing is, I don't know how it happened, one minute I'm asleep, the next, the carpet's on fire. I just sorta get up and walk outside, go collapse in some bushes (Hey, I was drunk) and then, in the morning, wake up, house gone....

Damn. I'm laughing now - not a good thing. You see, I'm Jewish so my "guilt gland" is way overdeveloped and I need to go and jam my hand in a door or something to alleviate the guilt caused by my outburst of laughter. And now I'm feeling guilty about getting mad at you for putting me in the situation in the first place. After all you're the one whose house burnt down. What's a few crushed fingers in comparison?

If anybody needs me I'll be sticking my other hand in a toaster...

Ah, it's just a house, houses come and go, but... but...
Gaaa, I can't think of a good philosophical saying right now, I'll get back to you on that one...

But it's ok, I have a new house now, or I will, in a week or so, when they finish with the building.

Note to self: No carpets in new house....

aside from the obvious financial and personal loss of the burnage of house, your "i was gone" excuse by FAR is the most original i've ever heard on TLR, if there was an award, i'd hand it over, that you could put on your new mantlepiece.
