Been hesitant to pick it up. I've heard there's quite a bit of slowdown if you get in a crowded screen, graphics look bad etc. What rating would you give it and are there and truths to these opinions/facts ?

I got the game last Saturday and i haven't stopped playing it. Its got quite a few framerate problems but the game itself is superb so this doesn't bother me. Graphically, its ok, again it does have sort of a ghetto feel to it. This game was probably the only excellent game i have ever played that wasn't overhyped.

I would give the game 9/10. If you can look past the frame rate problems and slightly disapointing graphics there is a very solid game here. The storyline is superb and there is just so much to explore.

The GTA games *always* have display problems of one kind or another. Damn console ports *grumble*.

i've been playing on it since sunday hence my absence from here, i've only just finished all of the main story missions, best game i've played for ages lots of cool planes, choppers, boats and cars. Best game of the year imo

Personally, I havn't experienced a slowdown but sometimes when you're flying or if ur driving with Nos the graphics can get a little stuffed. But it only takes about 3 seconds to right itself. I was just customizing the street racing cars...NFS Underground style. This game kicks ass!

Oh and a few of my friends were reluctant about the storyline, preferring Tommy Vercetti's Mafia style to CJ's ghetto style. I have no problem with this and think it's a nice change but if you're "not down wif da ghetto skillz homeboy", don't worry because even though start off ghetto style it changes into an everyone friendly storyline once you start heading to the other cities

Best Game Ever. You guys know it has multiplayer? I posted about it like a day after the games release lol. 9.5 out of 10. Only reason its missing .5 is because of occasional slowdowns. I dont think the graphics are bad at all really, I love GTA's style of graphics. Lots of weapons, lots of vehicles, lots of land to cover. Do I really need to explain anymore than "BEST GAME EVER"? You guys hear about all those people hunting Bigfoot???

Correct me if im wrong but GTA was never about car modding lol. They just added it so you can give your own cars a little bit o Flavor. Even if they just allowed you to change the color to something you like (which they did) it would have been enough. Second, NFSU is a great game, but I read in a magazine that Midnight Club III: DUB Edition should blow it out of the water. The dude from DUB who was advising the creation of DUB Edition said that NFSU is a great game but everything they have in it is outdated and out of style hehe. Anyway ill probably be buying both.

As a staunch PS2 supporter I'd have to say GTA: SA on terms of freedom and creativity (car modding?...well erm...other creative things lol) but I havn't seen Halo yet so I'm not sure

GTA disgusts me. i played the third one and seeing the fact that you can pick up a hooker, and do you-know-what and kill her. usaly i tell whoever says Video games are bad for kids to fug off, but when it comes to this.... lets just say it bugs the **** out of me. if they took out the hooker parts then massacring afew people with a gun on the treet would not be so bad

... then ignore the hooker parts, or if you're desperate, stay at your safehouse until 6am comes around, then go out.

you know, i remember a time where tv and films where blamed for all the violence in society...
