Interestingly, there is another new theory about the emergence of humans which is not predicated upon the size of the brain but on the fact that humans are only one of among horses and dogs that actually are capable of sustained long distance running.

This theory further proposes that while the brain may have shown its significance in the evolution of humans, the ability to run for long distances probably had far greater impact in the earlier stages of human development.... in that this ability to cover greater distances over time made it possible for humans to outcompete others when food may have been scarce.

I agree with mustang. They may be mighty hunters but we can hit them on top of the head and shove a spear through their skull destroying various bodily organs. Some assembly requiered.....Yeah, musty, we kicked their a**
