wow this is kinda cool, my stepdad studies aggression in kids and insists that violent games cause agression(i hate that he does this, cause that means he nos wut all the games r like and which ones have"questionable" content) lol anyways i have never doubted the importance of video games, i think they r quite good for u(played in moderation of course) they are fun and exciting but they require almost np physical effort, great for people who are tired, and i dunno what the heck id do on rainy days without them.

Wow... that was obvious. It's as if a whole dimension was created and filled up with one sentence : "Jesus Christ you don't much more obvious than that!".
In fact, the word "obvious" doesn't correctly imply the sheer scale of the obviousness of those statements- I will invent a new word for the purpose of describing that article: "Ovibious".
That about covers the ovibious qualities of the article then.

As for that bit about women characters neing strong role models... ha! About as strong as Catwoman.

My parents have always let me play violent video games when i was younger because they knew i could tell the difference between real life and gaming. They also had faith in how the brought me up as a child.

Maybe someone should mail this to the family of the boy who killed his friend who then blamed Manhunt.

i remember a time when violent films where blamed on certain behaviours.....

They still are ff. It's just that violent games are far more targetable by the anti-lobby because of the fact that the games are "based" on violence as the point of the game as opposed to movies that allegedly are doing it for "art."

i can believe that video games make you feel more aggressive. Like when you play doom 3 and you get scared. Games are realistic and atmospheric enough these days to get you involved to the point you want to stop playing ebcause you are genuinely frightened. That same method of getting the gamer engrossed means that playing an action game gets the adrenaline rushing and feeling more aggresive. Although this, ive found, usally disapates within about 30 seconds of stepping away from the computer

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The gamers I know are the most calm, most caring people I know. We may be sniping each other in CS, but we aren't going to shoot cars from overpasses. (Reference to Charles McCoy, shooter who terrorized my city a while back).

what a great word! I have always admired your ability to re-invent the English language in such a way. Note that Arcon couldn't come up with an ace word like "ovibious"...

That article couldn't be more true. I didn't read the whole thing, but I read the one about the violance and social detiriration. I just don't see how some people can be so, well, I won't say stupid, I'll say "misinformed." Just like the supporters of the Endangered Species Act, not all of them are assholes, most of them are just misinformed. (More on this later in another topic when I start "BS of Today's World- A Revolution Production." Good idea exuming this topic alpha-leader.
