Is this spider real?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Is this spider real?

Huge Spider

this is supposedly a bananna spider, surely anything this big would collapse under its own weight?

I've seen bigger on my travels .... tarantulas.

Nice spidy. Difficult to judge about the size tho. it could be good to put sth close to it for comparison, say, a human finger

Life is only given once ... and most often by accident

That, is.... BIG...
The bigness...
Thats bigger than any australian spider ive ever seen..... although not nearly the deadliest, ive held the deadliest spider on earth im my hand:

The daddy long-legs
undisputed and scientifically proven to be the most deadly spider on earth, a human is immune because its fangs are too short to even scratch human skin

The 'daddy long legs' is not a spider, its an insect - it has wings, it flies, and they said IF it could cross breed with spiders we would be in trouble if i remember rightly.

If they could cross breed a south american tree frog with a mosquito - then we would be in more trouble.

@DSQ the "camel spider" thingy was revealed as a hoax well over a year ago. Google it, there are plenty of documented websites on the subject. Such as this one - which explains that the famous "camel spider in iraq" photograph is in fact a zoomed in photo of 2 spiders attached to each other, each no bigger than a child's hand.

Bird Eating Goliath Spider

Guiness' largest known spider.

I'm with DSQ on this one about the arachniphobia. I absolutely HATE spiders. Everything about them is creepy. The bigger they are, the creepier they get.

Post Mon Oct 18, 2004 7:31 am

Meh, I say the bigger they are the more fun it is to skweesh them.

Chips, you have to be thinking about that giant mosiquto. The grandad spider we have, is indeed a spider. It measures on the average, 3inchs across, leg tip to leg tip.

Interestingly, daddy-long-legs or "harvestmen" are NOT insects but also NOT
truly spiders.

Insects have three-segment bodies, true spiders have two-segment ones and
d-l-ls one.

Although a cousin of true spiders, being an arthropod, a d-l-l is in an order all its own, the phalangida. True spiders are in the order arachnida.

I was gonna get a pet tarantuala, but I got a corn-snake instead. (The tarantula was tiny)
