Poor Brits

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Poor Brits

How can they do that to their people, its terrible. Besides sugar gives energy

What are we going to do tonight Brain?
Same as we do every night Pinky, Try to take over the world
If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?

ho-ho, good job such draconian health-fascist iudeas have no place in the Islamic People's Republic of Tawakalnistan.

pah, Noo *Labour* simply can't stop telling us how we should live our lives. A pox on them and their health initiatives.

Britons will be persuaded to limit their sugar intake

They might try to persuade us, but I doubt it will actually work. Plus, if people still buy cigarettes, why will putting warnings on sugary foods and drinks have any more effect?

i love the warnings. I often go into a newsagents, pick up a pack of 20, and check the warning - "Smoking may damage your health and that of others around you?" No thanks, not for me, I'll give em a miss this time

course the safe ones are the "Smoking while pregnant harms your baby" cos if youre a bloke it doesn't apply. so you can smoke as many of those as you want.

Post Sun Sep 19, 2004 4:30 am

Over here we have a saying .. "sugar is energy" .. Sugar doesnt make you fat .. it's the abusive use of sugar that makes you fat

Sycho - its not how they can do that to people - its how can people do that to themselves!! Sugar is 100% carbohydrate, and can fatten you up faster than fat! What happens to unused energy? It gets stored of course - which is what fat really is - a great energy storage device. Unfort people eat far more energy than they need - and therefore get fat. They won't restrict themselves, deny their hunger pangs or even attempt to burn it off.........they will eat as much as they wish, and pile on the pounds.

You will find that this is PROBABILY more aimed at our fat kiddies, which is what everyone is really worried about. They consume far more sugar than adults......and don't care/understand the consequences.

@Taw

stop telling us how we should live our lives

Agreed, but irresponsible people should stop expecting the tax payer to pick up their bills in treatment when their health care bills outstrip their contributions (for most this would be a remarkably small amount of care, and barely surgery followed by a few days in a ward bed).

actually ignoring hunger doesnt make you lose weight, its been proved a while ago i think
besides, instead of making the sugar intake less, rather make them exercise more, it stops you from getting fat and is good for your health
and as I always say, if sugar(or the exsesive intake of it) makes fat, why am I not fat?
I guess computers and TV can also be blamed for fat ppl/kiddies, so why blame the sugar?
Its not the fault of the sugar or even the computer or the TV, its the fault of the one who is fat, plain and simple

@Taw: bill hicks called, he wants his bastardised joke back

Post Sun Sep 19, 2004 5:57 am

Governments have NO right to tell you what or what not to eat.

Post Sun Sep 19, 2004 6:04 am

actually i got it from Private Eye, i don't like Bill Hicks.

Post Sun Sep 19, 2004 6:10 am

stopping fat people from using hospitals is easy; make the doors narrower then the lardies can't get in.

I consume huge amounts of sugar and fat and I'm as slim and sleek as a rake.
