Politically correct

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@esq, that thread is over a year old. i seriously dont think its a crime to start up a topic previously discussed, as we all hate gravedigging more than we do repeating topics.

The more common ones really rile me.

For example, insisting that a chairman be referred to as the "Chair". What a load of bollocks! Why, pray tell, should we deny he is a man? There is nothing offensive about the word and nothing at all in any way whatsoever sexist about it. Grrr.

Secondly, I saw this in a theme park - "Patrons with larger chest dimensions may find the restraints on this ride uncomfortable". Eh? I couldn't help but smirk as I wondered who the heck would need telling that anyway. It should be common sense that if you're FAT - there, said it - it's going to be a little hard to fit inside something mechanically designed to stop a skinny person falling to his death at 60mph at 50ft or something . Arg!

@Cosmic Viator
As the great Stalin said - "A single death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic." One of my all time favourite quotes.

EDIT: Aargh!! How could I forget my own signature!?!

I rather enjoyed the "warning" for the Day after Tomorrow - "caution - may contain scenes of extended peril" - I thought that was class!

And not the "Rugrats: The Movie" - Contains some mild peril?

I have to wonder what, exactly, IS 'mild' peril?

EDIT: (Italics don't work)

kimk - A year old? Really? In any case, I was bringing that thread to the attention of the posters in this topic, not implying that this thread was a unnecessary repetition of the subject matter!

Oh yeah, and remember to say "mainboard" instead of "motherboard" people!

Any ideas about changing the "mother tongue" to sth else? I personally find it abusive
P.S. I know about the "native language" and stuff - just wanted to express my opinion.
