What the bleep do we know?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Simple answer: the photon goes through both slits because that's the way photons behave. It's what science ultimately boils down to, because that's the way the universe works. --- VH16

the Aravis doesnt understand quantum physics so hell just smile and nod his head

the details of probabilty waves are still being debated. However its certain that something we don't quite know about is going on. Some people say its all in the mind, others say if you aren't actually looking at the moon, it isn't there.

The problem is the mathematics is all there (and in some cases proven), however its the way you interpret it thats the hard part, seeing as we aren't talking about anything any of us can relate to or have experianced.

@ shroud stop calling everything spam.

Umm, anyway if people want to discuss this stuff then make a new thread, but for now BACK ON TOPIC did anyone actually catch the name of the film in question? Is it actually called "what the bleep do we know" ???

@ Griffon_26: Maybe you've played the Commanche simulators? Yeah I know the Griffon squadron. Ahh, many fine memories of those damn Hinds spinning their phat armored asses down to earth. But I hated killing Hokums...they just look too damn cool!!!! "Griffon 26 this is Omaha 1-6, you are cleared for take-off....Roger 1-6" that was the sound at the loadup screen when you put the Commanche 3 disk in...Lol so many memories

Anyway back on topic. Arrghhh. This hurts mein kopf! I hated Quantum Physics at school but anyway how is the American-Indian-not-seeing-the-clipper-because-they-had-never-seen-one-before possible? Does that mean that if aliens come to earth in a UFO that we will not see the UFO...

bah that crap has nothing to do with real *proven* quantum mechanics, brings the real stuff a bad name.

Oh and yeah, I liked that game, before the trash that was "comanche 4"..
Remember your stupid co-pilot? He'd get stuck trying to go over a mountain, and keep bouncing off it without actually touching it, and all of a sudden for no apparent reason "mayday mayday maday Griffon two six this is Griffon two seven, we're going down!"...and what about the datona series apaches, "Griffon 26 this is Datona one three, here comes the cavalry!"...Comanche 3 was awesome... ahh pleasant memories

comanche 3 was deff awesome stuff. seriously good AI. you hide, they can't see you. they see your fan spinning, and they got 5 missiles going @ you.

there was one time when i was chasing a hind, my engines messed up, fantail on orange, the bird would drop and turn randomly, and i was out of missiles, i was targetting the hind whilst spinning out of control, and shooting the other hind with the machine gun...

it was sort of sad how the buildings literally plowed into the ground upon destruction. but i guess it was good nonetheless.

anyways, back on topic, no i have not seen this movie thingo... and imho, that probability stuff? the physicists really have way too much time on their hands. if you can't see your wife, does that mean she might not exist? if you've seen something before, have the knowledge that something exists, it will do so, until some other dude coms along and de-existifies it.

well probability waves are only really used realistically for singular particles, and the maths in quantum mechanics makes very accurate predictions, and anyway, that stuff about things aren't there unless your observing (measuring) them is NOT what "probability waves" is all about, its just one of the many offspinning ideas about it.

*secondary topic * commanche was ahead of its time, I think (I haven't played any other sims around that era) I loved them hellfires, and those T 80's that could shoot you down with their main guns and the notorious *triple A* all helichopter sims I've played since then have been crap.

those triple A, yes. you have to get into a blindspot. thats what i used to do when i have time. otherwise its one of those cheats and i rain hellfires on them. i liked their sound effects too. a slow machine gun fire.

if i find it hard to get into a blindspot without coming under fire on my way there, i just go hide, uncover, and fire first before he gets a shot out

dont you guys think those fighter planes are annoying? hellfires miss them. had to fire like 10 to have just one hit the tail. had to use stingers.

i really loved how you could significantly hide from your enemy.

yep, those T-80s were annoying, but fun. loved it when you see their shells just fly past your cockpit, missing totally

i really liked the last mission i think it was, when the base is under fire from all sides. you see them coming from all sides and with limited ammo you really finish them off... without having to movie for 5 mins on end to get to waypoints.

loved the damage effects too. get hit couple times on your ass and you're spinning to the left/right. hit on your rotors and you need to push them to the full to maintain altitude. annoying when your radar gets hit...

Ah yes it was great. My favourite was the Anti-Chopper missions and I used to replay them in F9 mode just so I could see the enemy choppers in detail. Mmmm yes, certainly a classic. Along with F22 Lightening 2 and Armored Fist 2, it's cousins came in the pack called World of Combat 2000 or something. Many a good memory in there. I never heard much about Commanche 4, was it any good?

The AAA on C3 was like nothing I'd ever seen. Maybe some of the most effective AI for AAA seen. Mmm good times.
