Wind power

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

shoot the pidgeons naw just kidin have something that scare pigdeons and if worst come to worst as peter said

"first we must learn to comunicate with them then breed with them, in time our differences will pass" or you could have loud noises that scare them such as the claking of typing

put a fence around and over it not that it would help
but would solar cells be effective in countries like England where it is cloudy most of the year?

Post Sun Sep 12, 2004 8:18 am

if there a flash of light you can shave!

Post Sun Sep 12, 2004 8:30 am

Put powerful spotlights on top of your roof solar cells, smartass. Power the light with the power generated from the solar cells. That's what I call a cycle of continuous, renewable energy

Gasohol.... gasoline mixed with grain alcohol is OK but I'd like to see us all move off of internal combustion engines over time.

Windmills do make noise. But you have to get closer than 100m to hear it. I find it a litle hard to believe that only 5 to 7 windmills provide all the the electricy needed by the residents of Copenhagen. How large are those mills? They pretty much must dominate the scenery wherever they are.

Each form of renewable energy source should be integrated, like FF said.

Problem with hydroelectric dams .... consider the current controversy over the Three Gorges Dam project in China. Although the primary purpose is to control flooding and to assure a steady downstream supply of water, it also is going to be a gigantic hydroelectric generation plant.

the windmills in cophagen are pretty big but they are out on the lake...

"Put powerful spotlights on top of your roof solar cells, smartass."

what a great idea! it powers itself! gee FF your a scientific genius. have you got any other cool inventions?

@Fear Factor- I hate to spoil the joke (I think Taw was hinting at this), It is impossible to create a machine that produces equal or more energy than it consumes, and also, the pigeons would cr@p on the spotlights too...

Post Sun Sep 12, 2004 1:13 pm

I'm more worried about the pigeon cr*p. who gives a flying f*** about the laws of Physics? look i built a perpetual motion machine out of a milk carton!

edit - horrible thought, wait just a moment. FF suggests putting huge floodlights on the solar cells. This won't just create light, but a lot of heat. pigeons will cr*p on the solar panels. the heat from the lights will bake the pigeon poo hard and dry. FF has already 'fessed up to drinking dried raccoon poo (yuk!) so many he's branching out, spreading his foul creed of poo-consumption across the globe..

Pop-sci had an interesting article the other day. We would genetically modify some bonsai trees for high leaf yeild, fast growing time, and extremely small size, grow them to maturity, grind them up in a blender, and then use the methane from the decaying matter to power a generator. They esitmate that a single tree could recharge, say, and i-pod. But now, if we get a bigger tree... --- VH16

Post Sun Sep 12, 2004 6:19 pm

i doubt that will happen....

Post Sun Sep 12, 2004 6:25 pm

Let us not forget bovine, ovine and porcine methane. They are very readily renewable resources ....

Post Sun Sep 12, 2004 6:33 pm

id rather not get into that... my make your gas from a cows ass.. oh the horrors

Post Sun Sep 12, 2004 9:08 pm

*Yes Dawg, I knew that! I was being funny, hence the ""*

We have to think of some strategy to persuade the pigeons to crap into the biomass receptacle, instead of on the solar cells who was the King of Vulture Men that you once mentioned, Taw? maybe we can hire him as avian liaison.

@Wiz, who begged me to come back to the "civilized hills of Holland" @ the locked feminist thread, after learning about my now-public obsession with racoon poo; here's my reply: I don't know which is funnier, Wiz; the "hills" part or the "civilized" part you joker you!

Post Sun Sep 12, 2004 11:57 pm

see? i told you. all our familiar beverages will be replaced by various forms of poo. And the irony is, we'll pay for it. it's as bad a s Soylent Green i tell you. Stay in your secret jungle lair with your experimental life-forms, FF. I always wonderd why you moved to Indonesia, and now I know: it's to assist Mustang. You sit strategically halfway bewteen his current location, land of Oz, and his hidden Kingdom. Don't think i haven't got it all figured out.

it's a much subtler plan than the last time.

btw the king of the Vulture Men is FD
