This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Monkey Island Series: An adventure game series, it's basically click and point and stuff (typical adventure). Very cartoony, funny and original. It has around 4 or so pieces and it's damn fun!

Ah yes, the old adventure games! Those used to be fun! Where have they all gone away to?

Hopefully what always happens will happen (is happening). Over saturation of the market with FPS.

Once you own a few, they are all much of a muchness, and offer little difference in gameplay..........specially when using the same engine.

Give it another two years and I personally think that there will be alot less FPS about, as desires for other genres/types increases - and the market diversifies. It will happen............i hope.

I'm worried about the Fallout franchise to be honest, I don't think Bethesda can handle it well.

Also I mourn the point n clicky of old... Sam n Max par example

Also the lines between RPG and RTS are becoming a bit too blurred for my tastes

As long as these Mods keep rolling out, TLR as a whole has a good future ahead. OT probably helps to fill in the blanks for most ... for a few (myself included) it's what makes TLR my favorits spot.

Two years is a long time but look how old TLR is already. Were we to apply a business model, an enterprise that survives and grows for 3 years is statistically more likely to stay in business in for another three than not.

Of course in the tech world, things happen in an instant so you never know. All kinds of catastrophic scenarios* exist that could throw everything out the window but as long as we're talking about normal conditions prevailing, TLR should do well.

*Check out Bargib's story in JDawg's History thread in Discussions Kinda scary.

Indeed. Mods are what keep the site going, and Freelancer will never lose its interest. Who knows, one day a group of people will ask directly: "Give it to us straight: what would you like in FL2?" And then they create a new engine amongst other things, and after a year or two of hard work they give the FL Community what they wanted: FL2. And TLR gets more people because of it.
As long as the internet exists and coders explore the possibilities of FL, TLR will remain strong.

i'm here...and am an oldie..kinda well one year for me anyway. (and an extra 6 months of kinda barely here when i had dial up)
i just havent posted much...because well theres not much to post about anyway...most of my topics get deemed as spam *cough*neokuja*cough* and get locked. and most other threads are of boring (to me anyway) news topics.
i would show my artwork, but you would have to have played halo to know what my models are of. (if you want to see them add me on msn...addy is the same as my email. or just email me.)

Halo is like 2 years old, the artwork needs to move on by now wolfie, pick a new game lol. Start doing STALKER artwork ^^ I'm sure I've seen some of your Halo stuff, AFAIK it was quite good... just dated by a dated game.

Heltak, don't understand me wrong:

the artwork needs to move on by now wolfie, pick a new game lol.
Not to place this out of the original context, but I think Half Life is older, and people still invent things for that game

mehhhh TLR has been around for the 1 year 6 months and 10 days ive been here, so I think it will last longer then it has already.
