Safaris = baie lekker!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Safaris = baie lekker!

Just got back from my South African adventure. It was fantastic. I saw so many different animals, and (almost) all in their natural habitats. The highlight of the trip was at the Tshukudu private game park. They have a tame cheetah there named Savannah. She lives in the wild and hunts but is comfortable around humans so the rangers will take you to her and let you pet her and give her water. If any of you out there have serious amounts of money to burn I highly recommend you go to SA and experience that for yourselves.

I have some pictures on Photobucket...if anyone is interested click here (in the picture where people are watering the cheetah I'm the guy in the darker blue shirt)

Glad you enjoyed it I see you learnt a bit of Afrikaans
@zlo, well, since we have all this so nearby, we tend not to mind it much, but it still stays an awesome sight to see

south africa?
ok thats where im to nxt summer!!!!
although i really enjoyed the Med countries also the middle east & aussiland & switzerland. well i gotto say every country has something good & something bad in them but my favourite summer was when i went on a tour of europe. try the orient express thats what i suggest.

@zlo i dont think you need to be damn rich to visit another country so what if its not SA, its can be any other country. if you wanna get out of europe then go to india everything is cheap. very cheap.

Me too!

I didn't have much of a choice. I was barely out of diapers when my parents decided to leave. After being back I can understand why people wouldn't want to live there. Almost everywhere I went everyone had 7+ foot high walls with spikes, barbed wire and/or electric fences, you can't help but feel a little bit caged at times. On the other hand, if you are a professional (doctor, lawyer, accountant) you can live very well. It really all depends on what sort of personality you have and what sort of lifestyle you crave.

Did you go into the cities at all on the trip or did you prefer the beauty of nature to the South African culture? I hear they're big into cricket and have a wicked good team. --- VH16

I spent some time in Pretoria and Jo'burg. I have grandparents in Pretoria and my parents have friend in Jo'burg. That's how I know about the walls and such. As for cricket, I don't know how popular it is, my grandfather likes it though. I saw part of one game, SA versus Sri Lanka. I think I remember hearing the commentator mention that the SA team has been troubled of late. Sri Lanka pretty much whupped them, that's for sure.

You were in the wrong cities, thats why you have only seen high walls, if you go to the smaller towns, you'll see its much more open, you have to remember you were in the two cities with the highest crime rte in the country, you should have come down to Cape Town etc, here we have much less walls and better scenery
As for cricket, we used to be good, now our team are just terrible, the discipline is very poor
Poor cheetah, why is he getting a bath in that one pic?
