ehhhmmmm, By far too much to even list in here but the main (or most prominent) features include:
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Janis Joplin
The Doors
Zager and Evans
Canned Heat
Black Sabbath
Steppenwolf
Donovan
Melanie
Guess who
The Box Tops
Fleetwood Mac
Fifth Dimension
The Mamas & the Pappas
Jefferson Airplane
Aretha Franklin
Jimi Hendrix
Joe Cocker
Meat Loaf
The Troggs
(some) Bob Marley
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
The Dubliners
Enya
Red Amy Choir (some, just some)
Rammstein
(a few) Metallica
Martha and the Vandelas
(more then usual) Elvis Presley
Ennio Moricone

these are the most prominent ones, but they all tend to hom in on the sixties and many years before, with the exception of some.
I have no liking at all, a few bands try to be creative, and they mstly succeed, but for the rest, if you want the best of the songs, listen to the early ones, thats when they are ususally at their best.

though we are friends, how interesting it is that through the medium of forum, we judge friendships on what people think and say than how they live their lives eigh?

Has anyone heard of the Scissor Sisters? I just got their album (well the folks bought it on my sister's advice) and it sounds very similar to Beck (whom I also luurve)

Post Sat Sep 04, 2004 1:17 am

I like Scissor Sisters, in fact I'm going to see them in erm October i think, if you check my contrib. to this thread you'll see they're there.

I first heard their quite splendiforous version of "Comfortably Numb" while sat on a plane waiting to disembark. So i got the album the next day and thought that was good too. Someone I know saw them at a festival recently, and said they were crap, but he wouldn't like them anyway so I'm taking no notice of his opinion, and I'm going to check them out myself.

Are there any other bands that we share in common? that's Lemonjelly and Scissor Sisters now.

Hmmmmmmmm. I think you are right though with that, Hobbies aside, we are very different from eachother, and please, don't mind the little spelling mistakes in my other posts, there are a few words missing.

Anyhow, what I was saying, I don't think even if we were to live three houses from eachother, that we even noticed eachother, and just stayed out of eachothers ways, so it would be kinda right what you are saying.

Editorial Note: well as to the second line, I think that is a major part of judging ones caracter, and as a wise person once said: Live and let live, mehhh, I personally would be intrigued in meeting you in Real Life, but thats just the kind of person I am, also comments on your "weblog" or diary, I read it occassionally and am amused about your style, and yet again intrigued by it.

ohhhh and before I forget, I kinda like all kinds of music, except music in my own language and schlagers, but not enough to have it up on front of the list, this is kinda the music I enjoy listening to, I also like Trance, Dance and all that Techno kind of stuff, but my heart lies in the music coming forth of the sixties and before, simply because I entirely grew up with it, I don't hate modern music, or detest it for that matter, I just don't have the same level of enjoyment while listening to it as I have with aforementioned music, my Absolute Favorite being Jimi Hendrix, the way he plays the guitar is just phenomenal. and the way he composed some of his music is absolutely astounding, when I listen to his music, a kind of image forms in my head, you could call it a dry trip, but I am just in a Trance, its very hard to describe.

@zlo: Before black, there was Kill 'Em All(Their very first album), Ride the Lightening, Master of Puppets, (I'm not sure about this one)....And Justice for All.

I forget, did ....And Justice For All come out before or AFTER the black album? I have just about all of Metallica's albums except that one.

@Heltak: I believe they sold out when they released the Load album. I prefer they're older stuff except Kill 'Em All. I hate that one. For their newer stuff, I prefer the S&M live album. I just like the way it was done. Their latest album, though, St. Anger, is a bit of a mixed bag. I like the way it sounds, more brutal. But the songs are just too damn long. If they were shorter they would have been much better. Besides, they got themselves a new bassist, Robert Trujillo of Suicidal Tendencies. He's awesome. But I do have to agree that Metallica was at their best during the 80's.
