Role playing games

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

We've had more than one topic about RPG games such as Warhammer and D&D. Try the search option .

@esq, this is what sw was talking about. if they go search for topics that have been discussed before, but are now dead, they wont have the freedom of replying to that thread, continuing the subject, cause we despise gravediggers as well. this means these two policies, - not posting subjects previously discussed, and no gravedigging, are very.. strange. if we're to bring up subjects previously discussed, we should be allowed to, to get newer opinions and whatnot. you get me ?

*Smacks Esqi* Warhammer is at most a set of painted figures ( What they originally sold as!) with a set of rules to be an army.

I am playing NWN right now (who knows how many times I finished it before) but yeah I am playing AD&D (this time I am an evil cleric... blah dont ask). I like playing only CG or NG characters, I almost hate when we are all CE and NE (all acting crazy and uncontrollable ). There was a funny thing when 4 of my team mates chased an old man (to kill him for no reason) and they couldnt catch him for half an hour (game time)! I stud there and laughed but then I had to run after them so I wouldnt lose them. You dont wanna know where we ended up! But hell, they killed him (eventually). Well we are famous for stupid ideas and bad rolls
So ppl what are ur favourite race, class and aligment?
Me... elf, wiz and as I said CG or NG. I know it's not such a wise choise but I like to be somesort of a sidekick, just helping others (I save them in very hopeless situations)... Heck, I just like playing myself (what a role play, huh? )

Dude, chill heltak, Warhammer Quest is a 'beer and pretzles' D&D.

I consider Warhammer to be role-playable as you want it to be. It could just be a army of painted figures, or you could name your army and characters, come up with a background story, fight narrative battles against your friends, develop a history for your army based on previous battles etc.

Or you could play some of the sub-games such as inquisitor or mordhiem which is more role playing than warhammer, these games use the warhammer core rules but involve a much smaller number of figures whose stats and abilities change after each battle, depending on the roll of the dice.

I say Mafia is the best role playing game! But I suspect that not many of you know it... Let's just say it's a lot of fun!

My army of Orks in Warhammer 40K are the death skulls clan(I think that's the name, it's been a while), and a lot of them paint their faces completely blue. It's pretty cool. And as for D&D, I love playing it, but it's been a long time since I've had the chance to play pen and paper. Mostly it's been NWN, which is still good, but doesn't come close to the fun you have playing P&P. I usually play as a fighter or monk. Human, and LE or NE. Although once I played as a CG Elven ranger, that was fun because he was really smarmy and always tried to hit it off with the ladies(with no success), not really ranger-material but oh well. We had a Gnome in the party and they kept argueing, it got really bad when I tried to pick up the Gnome and use him as a battering ram. Personally I like the freedom you get with NE characters, they play by their own rules and aren't afraid to break them. But conversely, they aren't the brutal and often uncontrollable killers that CE character are.

kimk - True, but Azar was asking if anybody else plays D&D etc, not asking a specific question. Unless one or to newer members of TLR play D&D, what more can be added to such a topic? The people who played, or have played, have already said so. See?

*Thwacks Hel* I never said that it wasn't!

Mau - I always enjoy playing a Human 30th level Sorceror/10th level Red Dragon Disciple, or a Lawful Good Monk .
