a question about diablo2 : LOD

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

a question about diablo2 : LOD

its only one small question i want to ask, so im not gonna bother looking up specific forums somewhere else on the net.

the max gold amount on my stash is 100'000, it moved up to that from 60'000, i want to know how to increase my max cause i've filled it all up and i dunno where to put the rest, and my stats are too low for me to spurge. i've already spent all i can on the companion dude that i hire.

so in short, where can i put my excess money? (btw im playing druid and its really neat!, you got a small army behind you, its so handy)

oh and some small other things, whats that spirit of tree thing do ? it shines light, which i find nice. but its meant to provide my party with life? i dont see anything different...

and does druid have any specific special weapons or something ? like assasins have a katar.. those are the only two i've played so far.

Gold is useless on D2 lol...

Just dump it,there is a froumla for gold in stash etc, just level o0

Are you playing singleplayer or multiplayer?

Stash size increases with level.

That spirit of the oak or whatever you call it is supposed to give you life, just place your cursor over your health orb thingamajig before and after you cast it and you'll probably see an increase in life. Not that it really helps you all that much. At low levels anyway.

Druids have class specific helms that they can use that occasionally add to the level of your skills.

From what I rember the stash increases with each act!

Glad to help......................AZAR

100k is the max. The only thing you use your gold for is for repairing your weapons (when playing MP). Spirit of the tree? Don't you mean Oak's age or something? If you want a great summoning Druid, contact me on MSN, I'll point out to you the items you should have

And memorize This URL

pfft magic, no substitue for a maxed out barbarian dual weilding claymores

your barbarian won't achieve much when he's being hit by fire and lightning traps, shadow skills, plus poison and cold, from a high lvl assassin thats much faster, got more stamina and is more agile than him. A paladin would be better if you like melee chars that can hold their own against magic.

a handy trick if your stash is full up, is to carry your Horadric Cube around with you and use it as extra storage within storage, if you like. It won't help you with the gold, but you can carry more stuff, even if you're not doing any transmutations.

once you've got a full load of gold though, your money worries are over really. Even if you lose some, you're at such a high lvl by now that a few decent kills will handily restore your coffers.

if you aren't playing over B-net, you can "cheat" by saving the char files, starting or joining a LAN game with your saved character, then trading/killing for stuff, save again, and replace your previous character files with the new ones. in 1/2 hr you can have a stash full of flawless and perfect jewels and skulls, all the gold you want (what? more gold? away with you..) and lots of nice rare runes and magic items, plus you can dump stuff for others and they can use the same "cheat" to share your useful stuff. especially handy after you get a unique item choice as a reward after defeating Baal's seige army around Barbarian town (sp?)

this won't work for online games over B-net. so don't try.

thanks, and yes, i realised the horadric cube storage space.

oh and, if i may drag this on a bit longer,

what else can you do with the cube?

i know you can combine 2 quivers of arrows into one quiver of bolts, and 2 quivers of bolts into one quiver of arrow. very counter productive if you ask me.

also, i've found from a friend of mine, that you can combine 3 of an imperfect gem, same name, to upgrade it to the next stage, closer to perfection. chipped to flawed to perfect.

what else can i do ?

another question, what are the ideal weapons for a druid? im looking for a good one that i will keep for the rest of the game and that i can imbue. longbow? crossbow? kris? short sword? broadsword? spear? what?

oh and can you imbue stuff that already have magical powers? or have stuff socketed into them?

Post Sun Aug 29, 2004 7:53 am

what can't you do with the cube? there are thousands of "recipes" around on the web for Horadric cube thaumaturgy.

You certainly can upgrade gems, but it's expensive, you need X number of lesser gems to make a better gem (i think it's 3 but can't remember?) so by the time you've got to the top gems you've spent q a bit!

the bolts 'n' quivers thing is only any use if you're using bows that need em and you're picking up the other sort from the bad guys.

Wirt's leg in the Cube will get you to a secret level full of cows!

don't really know the best weapons for a druid, never played one.

Unique magical items cannot be imbued with extra powers, although by combining them on your person with other items, you can multiply their effect q handily. if you can get a matching set (rare, hard and time-consuming) of eg matching helmet, armour, sword, belt, boots, rings, bucklers etc, then that's supposed to be rather tasty (never done it)

you can have sockets added in Harrogath (?) by the smith as a reward, just as you can have an item made unique and magic as a reward. But it's a one shot, unless you use the LAN "cheat" I mentioned earlier. Generally I find skulls are best for sockets, as they increase your all round strength, defence, dexterity, stamina etc at the expense of the enemy's. Runes are wonderful but you can't always predict what they'll do, and it's too late once you've socketed them if you don't like them. Diamonds increase all round ability too but they don't leech life and mana like skulls do. Some unique items work better with the other gems but if you stick to skulls and diamonds in the main, you won't go far wrong.

Always carry a set of small and grand charms, a decent ring, and an amulet, they can make q a difference esp for defence. And a decent pair of boots that will allow you to conserve stamina. Dragonhide is great if you can find it. And a full complement of town portal scrolls, they are SO useful for getting out of nasty fights.

there are some excellent D2 community sites, i used this one a lot (I don't play D2 anymore, finished it on Nightmare and Hell last year)

MY fave d2 site: D2TOK
As for the Hodcube recipies, there are various rune recipies, a potion recipie that i have yet to get to work, plus a nifty little ammy recipe:
6 perfect gems of each type (Apart from the skull) + 1 magic ammy
1 Prismatic amulet (+35% resist all)

Post Mon Aug 30, 2004 2:09 am

ok these items, they are coloured.

Deaths' Guard (sash) (magical property being the wearer can't be frozen, i tested it. its right)
in its properties, it has other names;
Death's Disguise
Death's Touch
Death's Hand

another,

Hsarus' Iron Heel (Iron boots)
and in its properties;
Hsarus' Defense
Hsarus' Iron Stay
Hsarus' Iron Fist

can anyone tell me what these are ? some series of weapons? i get a bonus when i get them all? right now they aren't really awesome, defense 8 for the boot. but i dont know if they're unique (yellow) or magical (blue), the name's in green. and yes i can equip and use them.

Those are set items. You just basically described what they do: they give bonuses when you have items in the set equipped.

And those low level sets -- you'll probably outlevel those things by the time you complete them.

Post Mon Aug 30, 2004 10:01 pm

yep, sets.
With LOD, thankfully, they added partial set bonuses, so you get 1-2 bonuses per extra piece of the set equipped.
and there are high-level top-of-the-range set for each char:
Sorceress - Tal Rasha's wrappings
Necromancer - Trag'oul s avatar
Amazon - M'avina's Battle Hymn
Assasin - Natalya's Odium
paladin - Griswold's Legacy
Barbarian - Immortal King and Bul-Kathos' Children
Druid - Aldur's Watchtower
