Dramatic Olympia

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Dramatic Olympia

Allready, a lot of Doping related cases have been revealed, and now:

In the womens bike race, 1 person (this happened just now) fell to the ground and 2 others fell/ran over her. I don't know what you think of pain, but that definatly defines it.

The olympics aren't so safe after all, and the doping is just stupid...

Pain could also be defined as getting hit in the face with a hockey stick or against the ankle.

Every sport has its dangers, that's what makes it fun! Let's see what happens in the XC mountain biking; much the same idea but with added rough terrain!

Sport isn't safe? I could have told you that! Erm, what is the point of this topic anyway? Seriously. Are you asking a question or what?

For the record, the woman your describing, happens to be Dutch. And she won a GOLD MEDAL today Women Individual time trial Cycling

Her fourth gold medal in 2 Olympics. And she can win another one She was really mad at herself for falling down, that she decided to win this race

Now that's a "Dramatic Olympia"!

Anyone see the weightlifting? The bits I saw were a bloody shambles!
The British guy got messed around by his own coach and ended up with just 7 seconds within which to make his first lift. It made me grimace as he jumped straight to it without warming up and completely put his back out. He tried again, made it worse and got stretchered off!
Then they showed us the Albanian lifter, a 16 year old boy! I really think there should be some sort of rules against training children in a sport like weightlifting. It will seriously affect a child's growth.
Anyway, the poor guy buggered up his ankle completely while dropping low to push the weights over his head. He could only shuffle off after.

I will say this much, though, and I am not talking about your ever vivacious/curvacious sex kittens or anything but did anyone notice that the women's beach volleyball competition seemed to involve some rather, er, impractically small uniforms? So. Is it a sport or is it just entertainment?

Kind of made for some difficulties on those camera angles, it seems.

<Edit>

And as far as those two Greek track stars are concerned.... was this like a well known secret or something? The way it was treated over here, it seemed like the scandal of all scandals.

Indy havent seen the voleyball yet, but I do know the womans hockey are wearing pretty short dresses, those are really not comfortable, they make you look really nice and everything, but its not fun wearing it, for me in anyways

Post Wed Aug 18, 2004 11:29 pm

I don't watch the Olympics, but I am not surprised Indy. Who do you think watches that particular "sport"? Other women? Hmm, some probably do now that I think about it...

Post Fri Aug 20, 2004 9:55 am
