Exploding Pants

I saw a quick blurb about this on the news today, I haven't been able to find it online, but:

A guy today had his pants explode, from having components for making methanphetamine in his pocket, which somehow exploded while he was talking to some people. The reporter said he had (i beleive) 3rd degree burns on his 'components'.

I saw this on a television news station (Headline news I believe) so I'm assuming its legit. Darwin award anyone?

im having a hard time visualising this. maybe i shouldn't. it just stretches the boundaries (if any) of human stupidity and affinity for the darwin award.

That reminds me of the guy who stuck a pair of unbanded lobsters in his pants so he steal them without anyone noticing.

Well, the employee saw him fall on the floor screaming as he was walking past her... and lets just say the medics said he wont be having any kids.

Heh. Explosive chemicals, live lobsters, sawn off shotguns ... What else are people going to try sticking down their pants ?

This just in, from a similar news report on television. A kid saw a fish in a public fountain and reached in to grab it, and had to get several stitches on his finger, since someone had apparently abandoned the fish there. It was a pirahna.

Post Mon Aug 09, 2004 10:34 am

Hmmm. Don't they chlorinate fountain water?

Post Mon Aug 09, 2004 1:09 pm

obviously not enough if that fish was able to survive in there

Post Mon Aug 09, 2004 4:18 pm

Depends on the type fountain, but, usuall no. Clorine is only needed for pools where people will be in it. the others, just have to have a good filtration system. Did no one notice the different pants article? It was dynomite!
