Video/Game Rentals

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Video/Game Rentals

In Germany (where I just happen to live), there are Vid Rental shops, just like everywhere in the world, except that these vid rentals also rent out games.

I don't say this is a bad thing, I find its quite clever, but it's extremly bad for sales, as the game creators don't get as much money. The game gets buyed once, gets put out for rent, then gets rented out like 30 times, each time it will be probably be copied and they don't buy the actual game. This just ruins the whole "system", and pirate copying is just made easy. This is just plain useless, and the government even allows them to.

Those places rent out games where I live too.

Friends are just people who have used each other so often it has become habitual.

And wheres that?

I believe it works the same like renting books at the library. Every time someone rants a book, the writer receives his royalties. Maybe the game rental works with the same system? You could ask them!

Why, New Zealand/Neuseeland of course. Not a very good country but hey, it's somewhere to live before you are able to move on to better and brighter things.

I'm bringing a game back today (Söldner, you probably won't know it, but it's quite nice.........) Although, I do think Game Rentals do destroy the point of selling a game in the first place. Libraries are a useful source of information, if you need to do an essay, you either look in the www or you go to the library. You don't go to the Game Rental and rent a game (although, that depends if you're bothered to write the essay or not).

wait? PC games? thats nuts, i can understand console games but if you're on about PC games then thats a bit odd.

However, all the game shops i know allow you to return games within a week or something, my flatmate acquired dozens of games last year and paid for none.

The US has places like BlockBusters that rents all the platforms Except PC. Too easy to copy. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $5 for 3 days.

Well here, it's usually around 1 € for 1 day (including day 1). And yes, as soon as you get the game, most copy it and return it. It's really abit odd that they do rent out pc games.

Damn, why can't they rent out PC games here. Err.. I mean...

Hmm...There's a local rental shop here, called Video Update, and it also rents out video games and movies for around 5$ for 3 days. Again, every platform except for PC. I really wish they stocked PC games though, so I could try major releases. (My parents buy very few games; maybe 4-5 a year. Probably less.)

My brother buys a game now and then (this being every 4 months or a bit less) or someone gets something for their birthday or it's rented OR bought over E-Bay (w00t, E-Bay rulz). Well, there goes politics.
