It''s heartbreaking

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

It''s heartbreaking

Well, I've been thingking about this already after I played hockey match this morninr, and now this made me think about it some more
It is terrible leading the whole time in a match and having the upperhand, but losing in the end. A very sad example of this, is the semi-finals of the '99 cricket world cup, where SA and Australia drew, SA having 3 0r 4 balls left, needing only one run to win, but the last man was run out before they could get it.

Stuff like this is very sad, agrre, disagree?

In space no-one can hear you scream.
It is only you and the never-ending abyss of death

Thats what makes sport so watchable. If by half time one team is winning - and its a done deal, you would never carry on watching!!

Since i am sat down with the GP qualifies on in the background, motor-racing is a prime example at the moment. The best races for me is where it really does come down to the last lap - with the leaders neck and neck!!! That is more exciting than seeing MS blasting round with such a huge lead that the only way anyone can win is if he crashes (yea right!). At that point, i enjoying watching the battle for second, third, fourth - all the way to eighth!

Footy, rugby etc don't have that - you only have two teams

You win some, you lose some. It's certainly extremely sad and disheartening to be winning the entire game and losing only at the end, but in reverse, it's extremely joyous and uplifting to be losing the entire game and winning only in the end.

It's part of sports. If you lose, you'll get over it and can always look forward to the next game.

I really don't play the ponies but I do like to follow big thoroughbred race events when history might be made like this year's almost successful run for the Triple Crown. It got down to the last stretch. The favorite didn't win but that little filly really put up a great run. Too bad she had to engage her afterburners so early so that she had nothing left at the end. Wifey was very disheartened at her loss.

i don't pay much attention to sports (boring ) i'll watch a few things like a race (car not horse) or soccer sometimes, even when i do it is as a last resort to bordom

I can't speak for other counties, but US sports people are waaaayyyy over paid for what they do. Kind of kills the intrest. I may watch a tiny bit of baseball, near the end of the season, but, its hard to want to watch millionairs hit a ball around.
