New virus - warning from someone who got it

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

New virus - warning from someone who got it

Yup, that's me. The neighborhood virus watchdog got burned.

It's the W32.Beagle.AG@mm virus. Removal involves the use of a removal tool that unfortunately involved shutting off the restore of WinXP. Grrr. The removal tool has been around for a while. I received an email from Electricbrain and thinking it was okay to open...blammo. 76 viruses later I'm in the middle of getting rid of the nasty bugger.

Consider yourself forewarned. It's a brand new virus discovered July 19th 2004. I got nailed because my virus definitions were 4 days old. Go figure huh?

UPDATE: 4 instances found by the removal tool.

i paid a good amount of money for my computer and i'm not going to have some fool coward mess it up, i may only have AVG protecting my system but for about six months i didn't have a scanner. (i know i was an idiot but i wasn't going to pay $39 to have it protected either )
