First Splinter Cell: Chaos Theroy footage!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

First Splinter Cell: Chaos Theroy footage!

First off, I will just say this is INCREDIBLE. Simply the amout of options of getting by a scenario are amazing. For example: Sam is at a doorway, with 2 gaurds inside. He is presented with 3 options: Open door, Open door stealth, and bash door. The tester chose bash . Then sam kicks down the door, and mows down the next gaurd with his newly attached under-barrel shotgun . That's right. Interchangeable barrels. I nearly pissed my pants at the next feature: Co-operative online play. It showed 2 players at a wall that would normally be unacessable in SP. But, one of the players gave the other a boost and he clung to the edge. Then the other climbed over him and got onto the wall, player 2 following. Even better, it showed a new possibility in witch the players were presented with this problem: There is a gaurd in front of a PC they must hack, but he is looking the other way. One of them hooked the other player to a wire, attached to his boot, and lowered him down. Once he was close enough, he hacked the computer hanging upside-down. :O

Never did like Splinter Cell, followed MG and MGS too closely

*GOes back to Thief 1 and2*

Did you even watch the video?

I hate Splinter Cell, too much damn sneaking around. It makes antsy.

Yes, I'm not impressed, a stealth game with shotguns?

erm, a few things.

1) isnt this just a plug for your website?
2) im a massive as f**k fan of splinter cell and this footage is old as hell. in fact it came out at e3
3) to everyone else, dont go around thinking that just because MGS was there before Splinter Cell, that splinter cell is tallentless crap. Splinter Cell runs rings around MGS's sneaking and stealth, plus, face it, MGS2 made you want to burn your playstation 2 didnt it!
4) i peed my pants watching the co-op
5) not liking fisher using knives, he seems FAR too violent in this game
6) you heard anything yet about the multiplayer? is it keeping the 2v2 from PT? i hope to god it is.

I have heard roumors that PT's SHADOWNET vs. ARGUS multiplayer might be implemented into SC3

Post Fri Jul 16, 2004 4:34 pm

MGS2 was far more arcadey than SC, but pulled off the weapons and bosses alot better.

And they both are inferior to Thief 1 and 2

DS IS NOT THIEF it's SIMILAR BUT NOT THIEF

Post Fri Jul 16, 2004 4:42 pm

Eh, Heltak ?
This is a SC3 thread, not a Theif 3 thread ......

Post Fri Jul 16, 2004 4:43 pm

Man i saw this a long time ago, I was watching the gaming channel and saw it like i said very long time ago. My personal favorite is where hes holding to the railing around a lighthouse (or was it a guard tower) and theres a guard standing by the railing and fisher reaches up, pulls him over the railing and sends him plummeting to the ground. Very Very cool, i loved the first one, the second one even more, this third one is gonna kick ass cause their doing pretty much what i wanted in the game to begin with. They give you a big mission area and you solve it whichever ways you ****in feel like. I remember playing missions in SC1 that made me wish it was more open-ended, and SC2 had plenty of alternate routes, but according to a short preview on gamespy, their really going the distance with this one. Cant wait

EDIT: Found a short features list, man those ragdolls sound awesome

# EXCLUSIVE CLOSE RANGE KILLS: From knife attacks to athletic hand-to-hand kills such as inverted neck breaks, dramatic ledge throws and other new moves
# CO-OP STEALTH: Play online or offline multiplayer with a friend and coordinate your infiltration in an all new multiplayer challenge
# REAL WEAPONS OF TOMORROW: The most complete arsenal of weapons and gadgets from the knife to the modular SC20K
# AMAZING REPLAYABILITY: Totally open level design with multi-paths and optional secondary objectives
# ULTIMATE CHALLENGE: Intelligent enemies that make your mission more risky as you must get closer to them than ever before
# HIGH-RISK MISSIONS: Steal sensitive documents from under the nose of your enemies, takeout a terrorist surrounded by his bodyguards...
# AS GOOD AS REAL: Never seen before graphics technology offers the best visuals ever seen on any console. Advanced physics engine allows rag doll physics, particle effects and perfect interaction with the environment
# THRILLING SCENARIO: In-game gut wrenching sequences and gripping plot with multiple twists and turns

PS: this means theres only one thing that SC hasnt done that I want it to do, and maybe the third one will, personally, I always wished i would have a big urban environment and see how i can mess with normal people using those elite black op sam fisher skills. I know it will never happen but its my dream damnit!
