DOS Emulator help

I'm wanting to try to get WC Privateer (and maybe Armada) to work on my XP Home system and from what I gather, I need a DOS emulator to pull it off. Any suggestions on which ones to use? Don't bother with the "compatibility mode" either, tried it already.

Strange that it won't work in XP. I have Sentenal Worlds, Pure dos only. Works good with XP. Did not use the compatability mode though. Clicked on the Bat file and it opened the dos command window and ran.

DOSBOX ALL THE WAY!!
Use it personally on a large contingent of Dos games, works quite well, be sure to read the file mentioned at the end of the 'readme' file included, trust me, ull need it!

I just keep my old 166 running with 98. no need for emulators.

Dosbox is pretty much the only alternative, unless you have an active DOS partition and have drivers for all of your hardware. Well, either that or a 486

OK, I went to the link, then the downloads section, then started scratching my head while saying "wha?". Which one do I download for windows XP?
