I have to say that it wsn't until the final credits rose that I even knew Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile were King's stories; isn't that remiss? see, who says I know everything?

Has anyone read his short piece, Word Porcessor of the gods? Strange story, but good.

What I found amusing in Shawshank Redemption was that the Morgan Freeman's character "Red" was supposed to be a red-headed Irishman in the book, yet they still even retained the nickname while placing Freeman in the role!

@Taw, an easy way of spotting a Stephen King novel turned into a film is if any town featured in the film is called Castle Rock.

Castle Rock does feature prominently in the majority of his books - but not all of them.

Castle Rock Production Company is owned by King, he uses it to produce other films and make some extra cash....unless of course you count "Dracula: Dead and Loving it", "Miss Congeniality", "A Few Good Men" and "Hamlet" as Stephen King novels
