Web browsers

So whats the browser of choice around here? I use Opera myself... prevents unwanted downloading.

I just downloaded and installed Mozilla Firefox 0.9 and I'm in love with it already.

I have IE now, but have downloads for Opera 7.5 and Firebird. The other 2 are ok, just have not reinstalled them.

I've always used Internet Explorer. Mainly because I've never had any issues with it and I can't be bothered downloading any other ones.

IE is evil! I keep warning you people! Oh well, you'll learn eventually; when your machines get trashed. I just hope you keep it updated.

Nice work, Indy! I download 0.9 myself a couple of days ago, and transferred my profile across. I have yet to regret it .

Here we go again

*rolls up sleeves* right people, listen up

If you are anti MS and decide that you are going to boycott IE there is only ONE other officially designer supported browser - and that is Mozilla. Forget your opera, forget your safari and your netscape. Use IE because 98% of designers design purely for it and sites will work as they were intended to work...luckily for mozilla-ites, the other 2% including myself, do run checks on that browser too...so Mozilla is now slowly getting support. But if you can't see links, or sites look bad because boxes etc are in the wrong places, or multimedia doesn't work, or scripted menus don't work, or you can't read the text in an input box or ANY OTHER web problem...then you can't moan....you have been warned...its IE or Mozilla or its your own ****in fault.

This has been a public services announcement on behalf of the UK Annoyed Web Designers Association.

...ooh....OT...I use IE for standard browsing (because whether you like it or not, its faster) and Mozilla if I intend to "offroad" a little, because its pop-up killer is highly efficient.

IE 6 isn't that bad once it's patched up, and it's a lot more stable than it used to be. IE's real failure is it's popularity, whereby most malicious attacks are aimed squarly at it.

Just got firefox .9 installed and tweaked. We got a winner!! I am now impressed with it. It even runs my Main providers page with no problems, and the import feature did well on all.

edit - one side effect is that it makes the page aprear broader, which is a plus.

IEs failure(s) is its lack of functionality and cumbersome interface, quite apart from its shocking vulnerability. Opera 7+ for me, id'd as IE, and it runs as an e-mail client, newsreader and download manager as well, and it's very good at all of them. Mozilla Firefox IS excellent, my use of Opera 7+ is purely a personal choice because I can fly through Opera functions, but if I ever did change it would be to Mozilla.

Mozilla! Mozilla! My preciousss... it's mine! Hssssss... *goes away into dark, evil corner*

EDIT: Seriously, i'd suggest Mozilla. (www.mozilla.org)

I started using Mozilla about a month ago. I haven't used Microsoft since. Mozilla is definitely the way to go. I love how it blocks unrequested pop-ups.
