Music

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Dance and trance mainly i really can't stand classical music nor any type of choir singing i hate having to listen to it in church

mostly Indie - Morrissey/Smiths, Belle & Sebastian, Cinerama, Mogwai, All About Eve, Lemonjelly, 10000 Maniacs, All-Seeing Eye, Flaming Lips, the list goes on...

a lot of rock tending Indie - Death in Vegas, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead (although they don't really fit into any category) Cornelius, and more true rock like The Black Crowes

I have a particular liking for Alanis Morissette

classic rock like Pink Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Led Zep, and Santana, also Gong w/Steve Hillage

electro/trip-hop such as Leftfield, Underworld, Aphex Twin, Morcheeba, Future Sound of London..

other dancey-poppy stuff eg St. Etienne, mixes by Ruff Driverz, Westbam, and the Porn Xings.

& ska

& Elvis

"classical" (crap term) tends to be late 19th/ early 20th C stuff like Wagner, Stavinsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Sibelius, and Schoenberg. I'm also rather fond of more contemporary stuff by Philip Glass and Michael Nyman. Similarly I'm taken with John Taverner (Byzantine polyphony)

and stacks of classic stuff from the 70s/80s/90s - better off telling you what i don't like!

you should ask Arcon, he has excellent taste in music.

I listen to classical music when I want to sleep or relax but alot of the time I enjoy Christian Rock music, not that boring old hymn stuff.

Any form of heavy metal. Killswitch Engage is my favorite at the moment. I also listen to Sonata Arctica, Dimmu Borgir, Entwine, Godsmack, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius. Stuff like that. I also like some classical music, like Beethoven or Tchaikovsky. I'm also pretty big on movie soundtracks like Lord of the Rings and Matrix Revolutions. I listen to pretty much anything depending on my mood. No country music though. Bleh! No Christian Rock either.

Pretty much anything but country music (you can thank my Dad's love for Kris Kristofferson for killing off any empathy I might have had for the genre) and garage (who the **** came up with that crap?).
Mostly it's rock, metal and punk stuff, but I also listen to a few classics (I'm including film scores here), some reggae, old school ska, occasionally some rap too. The rest of it is random bands I wouldn't know where to pigeonhole, Savuka anyone?

anything except:
- classical (got nothing against classical but just not listned to it)
- Anything from hard rock to worse
- Anything from trance to worse

So basically it's pop, normal rock, normal dance, easy listening stuff you hear on the radio basically.

I listen to most genres of music, not so much rap/hip-hop though. My favourites are bands like Judas Priest, Motörhead, Guns n Roses, that kind of stuff

Post Sat Jun 05, 2004 12:19 pm

I like too many genres to remember all of their names in one go, my usual bands are Linkin Park, Dream Theater and some soundtracks off games, i.e Planescape Torment music.
