job interview
This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

/puts arm round Esqy's shoulder
welcome to the living death of IT mundanity, my friend. Has anyone asked you to change a plug yet?
mmmmmmmmmm I predict the future.....
at some point, someone will say "my thingy's broken" or "I don't know anything about that computer crap" or "all you blokes do it sit around looking at porn all day" one time too many and you will flip - ie go nuclear (it feels great btw!)
people will ring up for help with pathetic things ("my numericals aren't working" and you will be so contemptuous of their stupidity that you won't even speak, you'll just put the phone back on the handset.
pcs and laptops with viruses won't be fixed, you'll just give them back and say "well you f***ing ballsed it up, you fix it"
to make the point even clearer, you will borrow your nieces/nephews V-tech learning computer and give it to some director/manager/lecturer as their new laptop, and wait to see how long it is before they realise (2 days it took my sales director to realise I was taking the p*ss)
Now that you're successfully being ground down and all enthusiasm and joy for the job is dissipating (apart from your regular spell of release on TLR which becomes the highlight of your working day) you've now graduated to the level of IT cynicism that me and Mustie have been on for years. Your view of the human race will become warped and stilted and eventually your assessment of a human being's worth will be measured by how capable (or not) they are with a pc and how little grief (or how much) they give you.
..fold your hands child, you walk like a peasant..

@ff
It doesn't hurt to check in. Not knowing is worse than finding out.
@Esqy
Writing doesn't have anything to do with educational credentials unless, of course, you want to write on a specific discipline.
And, as you know, writing is a very tough career path. It really has to be a vocation to be worthwhile, I'd say. Still, if that is what you genuinely want to do, that's what you should do (part time at least). Take the plunge and start
submitting you work. It's the only way.

Indy - Writing is something that I've always enjoyed doing, but as I said, it is bloody hard to get into. I have never considered writing some articles or whatever and then sending them off to various companies. It might be worth a shot, thanks!
Taw - Sorry, I missed that post. Ah, there's so much to look forward to! I especially like the possiblity that my already warped view of humanity will become more warped, and that my natural cynicism will become much harsher. *Hears Taw's voice speaking to Mustang from other room; "The hatred is swelling in him now..."* .
