*Hugs Scotland* Ha! I have a better country than all of you! HAH-HA!

Of course we normally get retards visiting the Highlands or Edinburugh or Tentsmure...

However on the topic of accents Scotland is divinded into an almost x and o's shape for them, only with no lines at the top...

@Helt

Not understanding the x's and o's description. Any other way to say it?

without involving comments about nessie, haggis, and caber tossing?

Post Fri May 28, 2004 6:26 am

Well in the caber tossing north we have more or less one broad accent.

There's an accent around the area of haggis eating nessie lovers. One near Peterhead, Then two or three down the east coast. A central one or three, Fife, then the West coast and the south.

Next time on "Heltak talks Scotland" we have special guests singing "Flower of Scotland" and a piper...

what about glasgow, can you understand people from there?

Post Fri May 28, 2004 6:30 am

Yes quite easily. Understanding my maths teacher is also rather simple but most find it hard because he speaks quickly and was raised on Gaelic not english.

Taw.... I think you had to be there.... either that or Helty here has access to some interesting herbs and spices.

Mmm, sounds like Scotland has dialects to me (as you'd expect). You could have just said that Hel .
