help/advice needed

As you guys saw on my site, it it for a computerstudy project. This is a quite big project as it will count 60 out of the 300 marks that are used for your fiinal yearmark

What I want to know from you guys:
I want to put up a chat room there, you get a lot of downloadable chatrooms, which one is the best that is also small

And then, where can I get something telling me how to write a bot for the chat room?

Then If you got any sugestions on how I can make the site better plz I need it

Sorry I can't offer much advise in the way of chatrooms, but I thought your logo could use some jazzing up.

You can use it if you like, I'll even let you take credit for it.

Thanx Mustang, I made that one with Java graphics and you cant do much in there, maybe i will use that one but the general idea is to combine red orange and yellow, not just red and yellow. java just didnt have a proper orange

No worries, it's no fuss if you don't want to use it. I like to do a bit of photoshopping every now and again to keep myself in practice anyway.

Do you use Yahoo messenger? That might be a lot less headache than trying to install some sort of chat into your web page.

One of the easiest ways to setup a "chat room" is to use an IRC package similar to "FL chat". You also setup some forums using something like "PHP Nuke", but then you'd have to know PHP

Well, what kind of chat room do you want to put in there? Sort of like an IRC style one, or like a continuous refreshing web-board style?

The IRC style, iirc, needs a server to hold the chat room first of all. The web page can then load a client that connects to the room. The bots shouldn't be too hard, since there's lots of tutorials on the internet.

The continuous refreshing web-board style will need some sort of cgi capability, which would probably be way beyond what you're doing (I'm assuming basic high school stuff).

If you want some good references, check out www.w3.org. It has a lot of documents on what each command does, etc.

Edit: checked your classes, don't they teach Dutch in South Afrika? not that I mind if they don't but since it's basically influenced by Holland, many many years ago I kinda wondered

Thankx Nickless, no they dont teaach dutch anymore, with a little trouble, it's easy to read and understand, so i guess thats why they dont teach it anymore

On other matters, It sems like i have to do a continues refresh thingy, the server hosting my site does not support irc
