Illuminati

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Illuminati

The Illuminati, also called "Olympians " and "Moriah Conquering Wind, " are a "network" of interconnected "bloodlines" who call themselves "The Family" or "The Circle."

I ain't one for conspiricy theorys, but this one in particular caught my eye. Beware, this is a long (but informative) read about "their" views.
Doing some research on the Illuminati, I found this site about the "Illumaniti". If what they're saying is true, we are ruled by them, not by our own will. Of course, I don't think this is the case, but it is certainly a possibility.

What do you guys think ?

It's not impossiblr, when stuff are happening at the same time, we uften see it as unrelated, but if you look back later on you realise that the events was actuall part of a bigger whole....like a puzzle

I hate sarcasm, I never ever use it.

The illuminati were/are a factual society founded by a fellow called Weishaupt, but they supposedly died out rather quickly in the late 1700's. However there is still much debate as to whether they still exist. You'll find a plethora of conspiracy theories on the Illuminati. My favourite one is that Hitler was a member, Napolean too.

Some of the things they mention in there actually make sense.

It's an axe, I use it to...hack at people

You'd be surprised how much it costs to look this cheap

Well, If ppl new they excisted they wouldn't be able to do what they do well, so now there are rumours spread that they dont excist anymore and their work can continue in peace

Guys: I tell you, I'm through with guys all they do is tell you lies, they break your heart and make you cry, they want to make you go and die, the way the treat you is such a sin...
WOW! I dig that guy that just walked in!

Hey, this group was mentioned in Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. LOL. At first i thougth this thread was about his book. Well, the book itself gives some "facts" on the Illuminati. But i think they are totally fictional.

It was also mentioned in Deus Ex, but in not much detail.

@Neo:

It was also mentioned in Deus Ex, but in not much detail.

Not much detail? it was one of the main plot lines

Actually, it was detailed to a point, but they didn't give much info about it's background, and all nobody really told you when it started. They just told you it petered out in the Dues Ex present, and it was powerful at the beginning of the centuary.

Illuminati = Freemasons = the "Establishment" of every western country esp. the United States of America which was pretty much entirely a Masonic "foundation" (no pun) Most of the Founding Fathers were masons, Masonic imagery abounds on the US currency and Washington itself is designed as a Freemason's mystical allegorical idealised city.

We even have a sect within the Masons.... The Shriners. Not being much on being able to keep secrets over here..... The Shriners hold a parade in Philadelphia every New Year. They are a tradition.... silly.... but a tradition nonetheless.

<Edit>
Oh yeah. That's a sect within a sect, the parade is held by the Mummers, a special branch of the Shriners.
