German speech

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

German speech

I have this german speech I need to give in little less then a week, and I'm having so much trouble memorising it, my brain just can't recall the word order or even some of the words. It's frickin' annoying, does anyone that speaks german have any advice on how to remember it? Or even some advice on how to remember speeches in general, besides cue cards, 'cause they aren't helping either. Any help would be most appreciated.

On the non-german speaking aspect, do it like a song and just keep reading it over and over. I learn song words that way. And in your case, tape yourself while reading it and playback so you hear the pronuciation of the words too. Works for me.

hey - i'm aussie but i spent a year in germany, so my german ain't too bad. try writing out your speech a couple of times in german (if it isn't too long), and then practice in front of any poor person you can make listen to you.

good luck!

The number of Aussies on this site is reaching epidemic proportions.

Epidemic? You mean there are more than 5?

Post Fri May 07, 2004 5:57 pm

It's called "population control" and there shouldn't be more than 3 Aussies. Lest their influence spreads and we all start saying "G'day."

g'day blokes. you'd think it was a crime being australian.....

@Nickless: What's that supposed to mean? Are you implying something?

And thanks for the advice Final and the_darkness, I'll give both of those a try.

I am a addicted to Eve Online! Are you?

Post Fri May 07, 2004 10:15 pm

that's cos tasmania ain't really part of australia

Post Fri May 07, 2004 10:20 pm

@the_darkness haha very funny

Actually, most of the sterotypes are transmitted by a minority, like Paul Hogan or Steve Erwin. however, the reality is that most aussies are as normal as anyone (except for a few small differences) from america or any european country.

and for the speech: assosiate it with something you love. Like on Road Trip. (i love that movie)

PS: personally i think steve erwin and paul hogan should be shot for giving most aussies a bad name. but thats just me.

If it wasn't for them, no one would know Australia existed.

@The_darkness, that was a good one.

@fish, did we help you ... I had no idea that a German speech thread would have Aussies as the primary discussion.

@Sir S: i don't know what would be worse, being known for a few annoying people, or, not being known at all.
