Annoyed!!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Ok. comment time . No, I'll wait for more information before chastising Jag . Tell me Jag, exactly what have you been downloading and installing lately to end up with such a badly trashed machine?

Taw - Why is there a picture from RTCW on "Taw.com"?

There should be a sticky to avoid topics like this. How many spy ware threads have "popped-up" in the past 5 months?

I haven't downloaded anything I can remember, except all this spy ware protection junk that tells me "you need to pay a price and register to remove these bugs. REGISTER NOW!!".

Esq, because there just is it's part of my eclectic programming schedule. D'you know that a certain literary individual known to both of us thinks I have a skewed view of the world?

I just got two new problems. The original topic thing at the top of the page is green and some words have that blue link color and they're underlined in green. When I click on them they bring me to a search engine with the words searched.

EDIT- I got the link-words problem fixed. Is the green original topic thing on purpose?

Jag - I'm not sure what you're asking. Parli Inglese?

Taw - Well, you are a pretty skewed sort of guy .

SS - Just thought I'd mention that "spy ware" is one word not two.

If you people would only stop using IE, and stop downloading rubbish then you wouldn't need a scanner!

Post Sun May 02, 2004 5:49 pm

it's absolutely true. all that rubbish is designed to hit IE almost exclusively, I've rarely seen one that can get itself into other browsers (except Netsh*te) You should be using Opera, Mozilla or Firefox, then this won't happen to you in the first place.

What should we do to these Philistines, Master?

If you know what you're doing, you can fly IE safely. I've been using IE for years and have had no problems. The problem usually lies between the keyboard and the chair

Normally I don't like to plug other sites (spam) but what the heck, this one is too useful not to know. Check out the forums, there's a Security forum (where people post their "help! my computer has been pwned!" threads) as well as a bunch of others where you can discuss stuff related to your various ISPs. Some of the companies have representatives there too, and discussions are quite informative unlike most forums.

If you install every IE patch, then it is usually ok, but remember that half of the cookies that you end up with a third-party spyware. You don't get those with Mozilla/Firefox. True, you can adjust the "Privacy" settings, but then you will get locked out of sites .
