I Have a Problem...

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

You won't regret it Esq, they are seriously cranky speakers. Just get someone to help you with the box cause they weigh a pharkin ton. Nearly gave myself a hernia getting mine out to the car.

There is an alturnative to running wire behind walls an will cause min. damage. Base trim at floor level is usally held on with finishing nails and is easy to remove. Run wire on floor and tack trim back into place. Will hide and protect from all. If speaker backs up to wall, it can be made to come out above the trim to connect to speaker. Easyer than cutting into wall and min. cleanup.

Sorry Indy, I don't swing that way . Rent varies, but I live in an upper-middle class area, and a single-story house recently sold two blocks away from me for $1.2 million. Therefore, rent around my area cam be pretty damn expensive (as I'm sue that you can imagine ). I can't give an exact amount; finding out may depress me .

UPDATE: Well, I picked up the Z-680 speakers, and set them up. Essentially, I have the rear left on the piano near the doorway, and the rear right on the shelf over the fireplace. The other three are arranged to the left, centre, and right of the monitor respectively. The setup seems to work very well, but I have to increase the rear speaker volume by about 30% over the front three, as that way I get a balanced sound. The sound quality is excellent! I installed Far Cry again, and I almost had a heart-attack at the huge BOOM! that occurred the first time I fired the Falcon .357 . When I pick up a nice 16x DVD-Rom drive, I'll try LOTR in 5.1 Dolby DTS Surround. Should be good *drool* .

Mustang - The box WAS bloody heavy, and I had to carry it without any help (damn useless family) . I was very suprised at the size of the control centre. Still, the remote makes using it easy. All I have to do now is to get an optical cable for my Audigy 2 ZS, and I'll have some nice Digital sound.

Final - Thanks! Actually, that's exactly what I ended up doing; the rear right speaker cable runs behind the TV, but the rear left ran ran right across the doorway which worried me. I lifted up the trimming between the carpet in my room and the hallway, and now no-one could possibly trip over it; even my clumsy family and dog!
