A little gamma raising trick .....

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

A little gamma raising trick .....

....that I found.

Now, my moniter has really CRAPPY gamma (brightness for non-techies), for a while, and I was getting sick of it. I wasn't annoyed enough, so I didn't get a new moniter though, but put up with it.

The secret :

Get the Max Payne 2 demo on-line, run it and alt-tab out of it. As long as you don't quit out of it, the gamma will be high as hell. Btw, this doesn't affect other games which run while Max Payne 2 is windowed, it only affects Windows Explorer + Internet Explorer. You can get the Max Payne 2 demo from a games site, or here.

DISCLAIMER : I do not take any responsibility if this works or not on your computer. Results may be different from what I experienced.

I assume that you have tried adjusting the gamma with with the monitor's OSD (if any) and driver Overlay settings as well?

I have the FULL version of MP2!

oh yeah, it is hard. i have to do it every time i shut down my computer (its worse when i turn off the moniter) so i never shut it down. its usually ok when i just restart

Nope Esk, the screen refuses to run higher gamma no matter what I do (Except for the MP2 demo trick, of course)

Hmm, tell me, what kind of monitor do you have, how old is it, and have you installed the latest drivers?
