Brings tears to my eyes

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

@Steve and Gromit: I felt satisfied with the ending of the movie. It was almost exactly how the book ended. Except with the whole Shire conflict scene being cut out entirely, it was almost true to the book. I double checked.

Don't worry Mee; I have no doubt that "The Scouring of the Shire" will be in the Special Extended Edition.

Post Wed Apr 14, 2004 11:54 pm

I told you that.

Oh, I know it will be. So will the breaking of Sauroman's staff. And a whole bunch of other stuff. I think the official length for the Extended Edition is 4 hours and 10 minutes. That's a lot of movie. I have the EE's for the first two and I can't wait for this one.

Actually, 4hrs 10min is not too long for a movie in my opinion. It ranks up there with Gods and Generals (4hrs 10min) and Gettysburg (4hrs 5min). Those two movies are some very good ones.

And to whoever said it, I liked the end of the movie, just if it couldn't hold my attention with the scouring of the shire scenes, I could only think about having to pee.

Sorry, but imho the ending didn't work without the scouring...but I did find that die-hard fans loved it anyway. It was summed up for me by my gf...she's anti-sci-fi, anti-cgi, pretty much anti-everything-cool....but she adored the first 2 LOTR movies...she was gagging for the third to come out more than I was! And when she finally saw it (having not read the books), she said "I loved every second of it, but I felt like it should have ended after the final battle scene...there was too many star wars references at the end and it could easily have been 20 minutes shorter"....and I'm afraid I couldn't have said it better myself. But of course, thats only my opinion.

and esq...

Westworld? Never heard of it...
