Strange

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Strange

Has it ever happened to you that you know exactly what you want to do/say, but then you do/say something else, something you never even thought off? It happened to me twice, the first time I will not mention, but the second time was the other day. I was playing chess, I basically had a choice between moving a bishop or a rook, I knew I had to move the bishop i knew it would be a grave mistake to move the rook. I made the move and then I saw I moved the rook not the bishop. I didn't want to move the rook I never intended moving it it just happened.
Am I the only one to whom stuff like this happens?

Sorry SW, I must have waved my magic wand again. It won't happen again, I promise

ok, seriously. It never happened to me before. But that's mainly due to the fact that I don't play chess

I don't know if it... wait, yeah it happens to me. I just have that vague feeling that I have, but no examples. Actually I'm in the process of one at the moment. I said to myself "Type that essay, then get on TLR". I got on my computer, turned on AIM and WMP, then Internet Explorer, went to favorites and here I am.

I have another thing like that. Who needs drugs and alcohol? I never remember what's happened the night before.

Signature? What's that?

It's actually impossible for us to do anything exactly as we planned. Chess is a horrid example of this, as players can get into the habit of formulating great strings of moves to take some random piece only to collapse when the opponent moves something else than they planned. But it's the same anywhere, especially in conversations, where you think of what you're going to say but don't actually say it that way.

Yes, with enough concentration you could prove me wrong, but you'd look slow.

sycho_warrior, with your case if you concentrate or think hard enough about NOT doing something, you're probably more likely to do it. Haven't a clue why though.

Eh_Steve, in your case, what you plan last will be at the forefront of you subconsciousness so you'll be more likely to do that automatically. I think.

When someone is talking to me when I'm writing I'll end up saying what I meant to write and writing what they were saying or what they said.

That's happened to me a lot, although usually it's a case of working something out, then, when I'm about to do it, I forget, because I was concentrating very hardly on remembering it. I think there's a reason, but I forget...

@ Nickless than you very much I'd appretiate that
It doesnt just happen with chess other stuff as wel, got me in a extremely
embarresing position once.

@ Eh_steve lol I'm not talking bout something like that, thats natural, i think we all do it...I know I do it a lot

@TET Well thats the best of all I know lots of times I make a certain move and later I cant remember why I made it. But in this instance they guy I was playing against could take either my rook or bishop depending on what i did i had to take his knight with either my rook or bishop. If I used my bishop i was safe if I used my rook i was not. I knew that, and I knew I wanted to move my bishop, but I moved the rook in anyway its not that i forgot that i wanted to move my bishop, one moment i moved to move it and the next i saw that i moved the knight. And believe me I was concentrating very hard. Maybe that could be the reason, but I dont think so.

@finalday and again es That is a natural occurance, happens to everyone, its not really the same as what i'm talking about, here it is about your thoughts being on two places at once, the scenarios i was in, my thoughts were on one place

@corsair its not that I forget twhat I want to do I know what I want to do and then do something else

I dont know if this makes any sense but then in general I dont make sense

Acctually SW, it's close to the same. I work 26 miles away from where I live. There are 2 ways to get there. The main road, with traffic lights and lots of traffic, or the backroads with almost no traffic. I always go the back roads. But some days I will get to the light to turn onto the back roads and inevetablely end up on the main road with out knowing it till about a mile down the road. I have driven the backroads for over a year. So I know them well, yet I can end up choosing with out knowing, the wrong road.

It's the Lancers Reactor, it's a drug. I planned to type that essay six hours ago and I still haven't done it. It's due tomorrow so I'd better overdose on TLR so I won't have to get on later and I can do that essay.
