This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

i know its boring but anything akin to sl fl with some first person shooter on a planet not just in space

carnevale's is my top pick!!

otherwise it'll be FL/SL that does not suck. 8 guns mounted onto a single fighter sounds a bit too much IMHO. SL had a much better game layout. then again, where you could actually fly your fighter into planets and fight within the atmosphere, fight ships floating on the seas and whatnot.

I'd like it if they could issue a patch that adds save & load capabilities for a big game called "Life"... That way we wouldn't have to face so much misfortune...

Careful what you wish... You just might get it.

Lol...that would be great: "You have failed, load last save?"

Anything where I could cause armageddon and enjoy watching it On a big scale, I mean, not just some RTS

An idea came to my head and is now desperately searching for brain

All I want is a total immersion game. One that combines all genres. I'm talking about a full-on open-ended space sim rivalling elite and freelancer, that allows you to walk around the inside of your ship whilst in hyperspace (doing repairs and such like), then when you land on planets you get a full on fps to boot. I want to actually feel like I care for my character, I want to feel like I'm IN THE GAME. I want to be wandering around my ship when a pirate appears out of nowhere and attacks...rocking the ship with its blasts....I want to have to struggle and pull myself into my cockpit seat, turn off the autopilot and blast seven bells of **** out of them. The last time I felt full immersion was with Elite in the early 80s....are you telling me they can't create the same feeling nowadays?? 20 CDs? Who cares! Bring it on!

Come to think of it, sequels to Starcraft: Brood War, Ground Control: Dark Conspiricy, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne and Hostile Waters would be good.

I'm not evil, just morally challenged

Grom - The cross-genre game has never really been developed. I have no idea why, but an FPS combined with a space-combat sim with elements of an RTS would be fantastic, but I guess that a new engine would have to built from scratch. Besides, few companies come up with anything new these days; they all stick to the same formula because they sell. There's no risk in the PC computer game market these days .

methinks my friend from Chartham is looking back through the rosy spectacles of nostalgia

Who isn't? We older types get that way sometimes. Missing the days that will never come again

There was a game that had space ship battles and land based missions. It is so ancient. Sentinel Worlds. An old Dos game, but it had both and you could even board an enemy ship. One of the hand weps was a AK -4700. Was fun to play.
