impressions....

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

impressions....

We have a lot of actors threads, but this time my question is different.
What Actor, by their acting, has made an impression on you? Makes you think about things, has stood out to you? Give you pause in life?movie listings not nessisary but ok.

Ben Kingsley for me.

im trying to think but no real poigniant actors are coming to my mind. Just moving peices of acting really.

I think i cry every time i see Pacino break down at the end of Godfather 3, the utter sorrow in the man failing his family when all he ever wanted in life was to take care of them. The way that whole scene is played it really gets me.

As for making me think about things differently i KNOW for a fact that there have been dozens of films, each one making me sit in my chair having an epiphany, but for the life of me i cant remember the name of one of them.

Gimmie a bit of time i could probably come up with something.

Some of these are rather predictable but......

Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird
Robert Duvall as Gus McCrae in Lonesome Dove
Henry Fonda as Mr. Davis in Twelve Angry Men

But I'm not sure that I have had the same experience with these performances that you describe or that Arcon describes. These three and others, impressed me aand forged a favorable image of these actors in my mind for "all time" so to speak .

Definetly Mel Gibson, for both Signs and We Were Soldiers. Either that or Jeff Goldblum for his performance in Independence Day.

Mel Gibson in the Films Ransom, We Were Soldiers and Braveheart

Mark Hamil in star wa.....oh hang on, he was crap!

Erm, mine are probs a bit out of date for some..........

Alec Guiness - Bridge over the river Kwai.......his domatic character had me shouting at the TV set whilst whatching it, in UTMOST fustration for his portrayal of a proud army officer.

Jack Nicholson in "one flew over the cuckoos nest" - which was fantastic.

Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind, Tom Hanks in Castaway, Saving Private Ryan and The Green Mile (fookin love Tom Hanks), Daniel Day Lewis in Gangs of New York, Sean Connery in Finding Forrester, George C Scott in Patton.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, I'm sure there are a heap more.

2.Mel Gibson(for Braveheart)

3.Harrison Ford(for Regarding Henry and Witness)

Actually, yeah, Tom Hanks has had some darned strong roles in his time...although i used to love his old stuff like the Money Pit as well.

Am also a fan of ol Mel, but not due to his great roles - cause i love the Lethal Weapon films. Think i have seen them more than any other!

I haven't seen Regarding Henry in years, Harrison Ford was brilliant in that. Great flick.

The only Tom Hanks I could watch is The Green Mile.

I never really cared for Tom Hanks' performance in Saving Private Ryan, I prefered Matt Damon and Vin Diesel's rolse better. Especially the "But, she looks like my daughter" scene.
