Arnie

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Arnie

I was just watching "Total Recall", and I was wondering what you guys thought about Arnie. Firstly, do you think that he can act? And secondly, which movie do you like the most, and why?

No Arnie can't act, but for some reasons I do like his movies. I know they are complete tripe but for mindless action you can't go past em. Loved Total Recall, even got it on DVD, Predator was pretty cool to. Running Man wasn't bad but it seems worse now than when it was released, a bit like Top Gun. I used to love Top Gun, but I watched it a few months and realised what a load of crap it really was.

Dang, forgot True Lies, *assumes comic book guy voice* best comedy action movie ever!

im a fan of true lies.
Mostly because any film with spies is halfway decent and for some reason it just comes together really well.
Predator rocks but just a little bit less.
I think if you stop thinking of arnie as an actor and more as an action object, then you can enjoy the films a lot better. Its got to the point where you can watch a film he's in and take it with a pinch of salt.

I think a lot of the criticism levelled at Arnie is unfair. He's never pretended to be a brilliant or versatile actor, but he does very well in his chosen genres, action and comedy. Because his films are big-budget blockbusters for the mass audience, there's never going to be any real tasking of anyone's acting abilities, but he carries these parts off so well that you have to admit that he must have some acting ability; which dosn't go amiss in his political career as well.

Some of his films have stunk and he wasn't up to much in T3 either, but imho that's more to do with poor scripts and lacklustre direction. At his best, Arn's fun to watch and can pull off an exciting afternoon's entertainment. Look on his films as just that, entertainment, and nothing else.

My personal fav is Last Action Hero, which I found rather amusingly self-deprecating for Arnie and with more than a few wry insights into Hollywood

Everyone knows he can't act for ****, but there is definitely something addictive about his movies. True Lies and Predator are by far the best, but if I'm in a "no-thinky-thinky" mood, I'll bang on any Arnie film just for sheer mindless drivvle!

I think he acts well. I loved him in the Terminator series and somewhat in Batman and Robin.

Sure Arnie can act...... As Long as he doesn't try to say something intelligent.

My favorite Motion Picture with Arnie in a Starring Role, is a Motion Picture in which he has a record amount of speach of a total of: 101 words, namely Terminator.

My fave would have to be Commando, it's such an awful '80s naffness action movie that you start to feel it's actually a parody.
You've got a baddie who wears leather, chainmail and a ridiculous moustache and accent. The loving father and daughter who hand feed baby deer. A random scene with Arnie rowing bare-chested so he can show off his pecs. Bucket-loads of awful one-liners. And finally to top it off you get Arnie dodging thousands of bullets while simultanesouly firing off a few shots and killing hundreds of henchmen in spectacular explosions

the terminator 3 was his best film in ages although i did enjoy total recall as well

Conan the Barbarian? I saw that on TV a few days ago! It's so bad! It's a lot of fun to watch though. James Earl Jones is also really bad in that movie. I wonder if they meant it be a comedy?

Commando was a great movie

Terminator I, II, III
Total Recall
Preditor
Conan the Barbarian
Colateral Damage
True lies.
These are about his best and get watched over, and over again.

He may not be the best action actor, but there are others behind him, like The Rock who is back in another movie about Buford Puser, Walking Tall.
