This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

I'm studying Mechatronics at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, I'm selling and installing security and video survailance equipment, and I do computer maintenance (SysOp/Admin) in a Firm Registration/Bookkeeping company. No, I am not kidding.
Someone mentioned physics (Arania?)... Guess what I'll study when I finish MT... Astronomy/Quantum Physics to be exact.
Oh, and did someone mention IQ? Mine is 187, tested @ Mensa. Not that I'm bragging or anything...

Careful what you wish... You just might get it.

Bloody hell, that's a muscular IQ you've got there Chet. I'm very impressed, remind me not to get into an intellectual argument with you.
I always wanted to get my IQ properly tested, but I'm terrified that I'll get an 80 and spend the rest of my life knowing what I've always suspected.

IQ is definitely a thread of its own...if someone can be bothered to start one. I studied psychology a few years ago, and one of the things that we had to cover on the course was so-called "intelligence tests". Allow me to let you into a secret...they're all b*ll*cks At the beginning of the course we had to take a bog-standard IQ test. Then we studied the sociological background of the test, who created it originally, who it was aimed at, who it was designed to show bad results for etc etc. When you've done all that you'll realise how biased it is. Then at the end of the course we sat another mensa approved IQ test. The first time at the beginning of the course I scored 137...when I took it again six months later I scored 215. Its a load of rubbish....very easy to fool when you know its background...if you would like links to support this I'll have a look for you.

My point is this, do not put any emphasis on IQ scores, they are not a sign of intelligence....any body who does is a fool in themselves.

I'm a slave and an idiot, trying to fix stuff caused by other idiots.

Post Mon Mar 22, 2004 3:05 am

@grom,
i was just going to say that! i only mention my I.Q. because it fools the idiots into believing im smatrer than i probably am in some areas.

E.G:
Can anyone tell me the square root of negative one?

Post Mon Mar 22, 2004 3:24 am

SQRT(-1) = i
(complex numbers)

BTW you can't fool a pure logic IQ test - you can either solve it or not, unless you cheat, and see the all the answers. See for yourself, test at Mensa.
Not that IQ matters, I'm just surprised at how you don't trust the tests...

@chetnik I'm not gonna even get started on this subject, its pointless, there are hundreds of courses out there that will take everything that you think you know and flip it on its head. If you don't agree and you're interested enough, google psychology and IQ, you'll soon start to see what I'm talking about. Quite frankly, I can't be arsed to discuss this further, this is someone else's thread that we're hijacking here.

I'm teaching at a local University of Medicine, plus trying to do my PhD in Philology. Actually, I was forced to start the latter, and now can't think of a legal way to quit and not be kicked out of my job
I'd probably want to become a SciFi translator (thoough I'm not sure if I wouldn't get bored after several months).

An idea came to my head and is now desperately searching for brain

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly does a SciFi translator do? Is it like translating SciFi books into different languages or something?

Post Mon Mar 22, 2004 5:49 pm

Studing Enginering At MIT,

A SciFi translator will learn SciFi languages, (there are plenty especialy in Star Treck) and pretty much yah translates stuff.

What I want to do work for a Gomputer game magazine.

I had a super Ego, but it was pestering me so I killed it.

When I shot it the bullet grazed my soul, and that bled to death too
