Musician''s Thread

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Musician''s Thread

alright, so i wrote out this long thread about all the guitars i have, and how other musicians here could join in and we can talk about our gear and bands and stuff, but then IE crashed, and its time for bed....

So anyway, this is a place for all us musicans to post gear, show stories, questions, lessons/exercises, pictures, recordings, what you're listening to right now, recent concerts, etc...

really anything involving the creation or enjoyment of music

let 'er rip:

nah its not because we're not interested...its because we have seen 100+ of these threads before and get tired of repeating ourselves. I'm a musician too, as are at least 10 others here at TLR...I'll keep my eye on this thread and chip in if anything interests me...

i might do a cardimine and request a sticky. but the mods dont need to listen to me.
Kyp: those are some sick guitars man. id just do something about the rainbow strap on the bass...
since i dont have a digital camera, i cant photograph mine. but i got a Samic electric (first electric) Odessa Electric\acoustic, an Essex Bass, and an old nylon acoustic which is older than i am.

so its not as impressive as your collection.
anyways: check out static X's album Shadow Zone. some good stuff there. (especially invincible, one great song.)

I know it sounds really nerdy but I used to play in an orchestra in the brass section. And I was learning how to play the piano for a while.

Post Sun Mar 21, 2004 12:30 am

i used to play piano, but i switched cos i realised the guitarists get more chicks.

I've always been an Ibanez man myself, got an old dog Ibanez that I decked out with two EMG humbuckers (rarely get played these days) but my main geetar is an Ibanez Satriani Signature series.
What I'd really love to get though is an SRV signature Strat. Unfortunately they're way to expensive for the amount I play these days, but they do play and sound so lovely. I've played thousands of different guitars but the only one that's ever really felt perfect is the SRV. My Satch Ibanez isn't bad, but it's just not the same.

Just sat my exam.

Tried to learn to play the Guitar, but my fingers don't bend right, no matter how I stretch them, to get F chord. Had to settle for a keyboard.

i was gifted with freakishly long fingers.

i got an acoustic that translates to what.. 50USD over there? anyways, i play acoustic. nylon. i pulled titanic's theme off the net, gunna try it out soon.

i'm a beginner basically. got about 5month's learning down. i can play..
romance de amor, andante Op241, No,18(F.carulli), Allegretto op.241 no.18, and this other chinese piece, and thats about it.

as for listening, i wrote in quite a few midi's into the comp, along with other classicals like pach's canon in Dmajor(guitar), and an assload of other classicals. they are pretty much the only stuff i listen to.

Mustang!!! if you ever want to get rid of that JS Sig, lemme know!!! :p
imo, thats the nicest guitar Ibanez makes...

i've considered buying an Ibanez RG or even a cheap JEM, but my next buy will probably be a 5-String bass

i forgot to mention before, that i also have an Ibanez 7 string that looks somethign like this:

but the pickups sound like total ass, so i don't play it much...
once i have some cash i'll replace them with something better, but until then its collecting dust

Finaldy: Keep practicing. you'll eventually get your fingers to loosen up and do what you want

Kimk, any chance you could send me a couple of those midi's? i'd love to learn more classical but i can never find any good tabs anywhere

most of the time i dont listen to classical guitar, usually opting for some static X or Element Eighty. BUT - i have found that classical gas by mason williams has got to be one of my favorites to play.
