Perhaps.

A Dragon does not nescessairly breath fire, or even have a breath weapon, the Crystal Dragon is a good example of this. It's main defense is it's speed and toughness, however it has no wings and requires to use it's powerful claws and jaws to kill. So a Wood Dragon is nothing special... now if it said the FURRED dragon.

No NOT all Dragons breathe fire, some breathe acids, alkalines, some spit lightning, ice a few even spit pure Death and Life I even heard of one spitting Anti Magic.

you should talk to my daughter, she's nuts about dragons. tried to lecture me once about the Swedish Snout-nosed blue dragon or something like that; don't get it myself - dragons have scales, bat-wings, breathe fire, terrify villagers and have treasure hoards. Where's all this new stuff come from?

No where, it's always been there along with the Dragons. You've just not seen it , it's vieled from the Sightless and silent to the Deaf.
