Iron Mike

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Kyp may be on to something but it is just a shade thin on information.

"Iron Mike" Prendergast was a pitcher with the Chicago Cubs. The only notable mention I can find is that , in 1917, he was traded to the Piladelphia Phillies with a catcher named "Pickles" Dillhoefer and $55,000 in exchange for Hall of Famer Grover Alexander and his "personal" cather, "Reindeer" Bill Killefer. But this was in 1917.
The following year, the Cubs made to the world series, only to lose it to the Babe Ruth Red Sox.

The 1920 World Series was won by the Cleveland Indians against the Brooklyn Robins. I've checked both team rosters but there was no player named Prendergast on either of those teams.

This probably isn't the right answer.

As far as I can tell "Iron Mike" only lasted 4 seasons in the Bigs. His last season was the 1919 season.
