The Last Spamfighter - signing off

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

The Last Spamfighter - signing off

I hereby officially request a formal Leave of Absence.

My days of slacking off and living a carefree student life must end, or at least temporarily. Tomorrow, on tuesday, I'll take a flight home to Indonesia, my homeworld and place of gestation to and prepare to start an internship job (aka preparation for the rat race known as life ).

Due to the flight, I will not be able to come and spank you sinners back to your senses for at least two full days. And even afterwards, my visits will be limited, coz I actually will hold a job, and because Indonesia is not exactly the most wired nation in the world. The best I can imagine is dial-up. I'll try to visit again real soon (if I'm not dead yet of TLR withdrawal ). I should be back to cable in... January, when I go back here and finish my final disertation. Just a notification to my fellow mods to man the walls I'll need you guys to hold the fort for a while, quite a long while.

But that's only worst case scenario. My frequency of visits will drop, but it's not really easy to pass a day without TLR (as some of you who tried to leave found out) so it is possible to visit and moderate once a day or every couple of days. So this is NOT a permanent goodbye!

To Bargib: thx for the great site
To Mustang, Eraser, Stinger, EB, baked: thx for all the support, even when I did screw up
To Wizard, Tach, and Boscoe: come back! we need you guys to fill the void!
To Taw and Archie: spare the young ones, and Arch: I want to see comics when I get back.
To the spammers: thx for being my reason to exist try to take pity on my colleagues; they maybe mods but they have feelings too!
To everybody: please forgive any past tresspasses or injustices on my part. Goodbye and thank you for all the fish!

Leaving Already!!!!!!!!!!!

Demouser: I have no wish to join the play, but rather to see it enacted. My only concern is to avoid having the lands of Microsoftia bare down on myself.

Spammers: have C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DATA\AUDIO\MUSIC\music_failure.wav playing back in ther head when they visit TLR

Mods have C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DATA\AUDIO\MUSIC\music_victory.wav playing in their heads every time they remove Spammers

and because Indonesia is not exactly the most wired nation in the world. The best I can imagine is dial-up.
You'd be surprised, although it does depend somewhat on which area you're going to. I found Sabah (North Borneo, Malaysia) had plenty in the way of internet cafe's etc. which means there must be plenty of other options too...

Have a good time out there anyway

Oh, I do not doubt that there are numerous broadbands connections there. But most broadbands are beyond the reach of the common citizen. Most who can afford it are corporations.

Hey FF,

May your flight home be as prosperous and safe as possible and may the landing be as smooth as the take-off, and may you find happiness in Udung Pajang.

Yours Faithfully

Argh! Griffon beat me to it

Have a safe trip and good luck to you with all this "life" buisness. Hope to see you around once in a while.

Job well done my friend. God speed to you in your new life, the claims of the rat race being such a hard pill to swallow are grossly overexagerated. It is (and always will be) what you make of it.

Nice thoughtful signoff!

We got your six, and I'll be the first one to say when you return...."you were gone?"
