Heh heh... Joystick discussion!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Heh heh... Joystick discussion!

No really! Mine is old with food in it and I would keep using it except it floats around the center position (like it's loose) and won't stay calibrated. Also, Logitech doesn't acknoledge (wow! theres some spelling 4 ya!) it's existance . I never liked it anyway

I'm wondering what you guys use, for flight sims, arcade, whatever. I have a few pre-concieved notions as well as things I'm looking for specificly...

-Brands: I'm partial to logitech (what can I say, I love my keyboard) and microsoft seems solid in general.
-Wireless would be nice. (again, logitech)
-Force feedback would be nice, but not as nice as wireless. I doubt I can have both.
-I rely on the throttle control and if the buttons do anything usefull I'll use them but more often then not I just use the keyboard. Again, MUST have a throttle control.
-It has to fix this looseness problem. I want somthing to happen if I move it a milimeter (or two, somthing reasonable anyway). That's why I'm asking what you have, so you know how it acts.
-I don't want it to move by itself if it's just sitting on a flat surface. Mine right now drifts out of the center position
-If you have X2 and it works with that (or doesn't) be shure to say so

Thanks! I'll be out hunting and I'll post anything especialy interesting I find.
Here is a nice one! And CNet likes it... even better.

Wingman Extreme is the best with force feedback. It has rotation as well for Freespace, you can do a true bank with it.

That's almost but not quite what I have. I have like the first version or somthing. I just feel so tied down with the cord! I wonder if I really need the force feedback....

I have some RaiderPro I picked up for ten bucks at Staples a few years back. It works horribly on my Combat Flight Simulator 2, It wouldn't even fly the plane. Only ten though, and it works after I, uh, dissected it.

If your wanting a good one and like the wireless side, i would recomend the Logitech Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick. It has 10 programable buttons, a twist handle, very very good throttle, and of course....its wireless.

If I had to pick now, that's what I'd pick Matt. Do you (or anybody) actualy have one? Does it feel, well, tight, as oposed to the drunken wiggle of my current one?

Ive got the freedom 2.4. It has been everything i wanted it to be, except the price. It handels very easy and you dont have to fight with it at all. I calibrated it once when i first installed it and that is honestly the last time ive had to mess with it, very nice indeed.
