So who still plays FL regularly?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

So who still plays FL regularly?

No offense, but i used to live in the editing forums. When i ventured into the general FL forums, many names here were in their alot. Now though, Soooooo many posts in here each day, that i find it hard to believe you guys do ANYTHING but sit here hitting refresh for half the day!

So - who still plays the game that this site is dedicated to? And how often. Also - what servers - cause when i get some free time from modding, i might come and give you a darned good whooppin on some server somewhere - mainly as anything to save us from the spam deluge!

I play once a week at least. Right now, messing about with your Evo as a matter of fact. Well, actually, I hacked it a little and seem to have messed up the IDS numbers and info cards a little.... wanted to see if I could get my favorite Borderworld XR mods to work with Evo. The modded ships work but with the aforesaid shortcomings.

I'm looking for those other systems atm. Only just finished checking out Florida.

Every now and I'll play the original, but I rarely play it online

I've got to be honest, I don't play it anymore...I still love it though...its like when you wear out your cd collection by playing them continuously, you have to have a little break so that you can "rediscover" it again later.

I hadn't been a serious gamer since I was about 15 until I discovered FL (at the ripe old age of 28)....now the guys here in off-topic have sent me off in all-manner of gaming directions and I'm hooked on about 4 completely different games at the moment.

I will pick it up again I'm sure...I just needed a break because it was beginning to consume far too much of my time. Nowadays I only log onto TLR to chat in off-topic because I like the people I've met here....its got nothing to do with FL anymore for me.

@Chips, I just played Freelancer for the first time 11 days ago with the purchase of my new computer. I just beat it yesterday. I was looking into editing the thing before I could even play it on my archaic system I used to have. While I played I sort of saw it like Neo sees the Matrix, I knew some of the code in the game and it crossed my mind at many points during play.

It is a fun game, now that I've actually been able to try it. I do miss the joystick use, but the mouse was surprising handy.

lol - I still play it i have to say, although its mainly due to mod testing. Getting into a really good clan is the best thing

@ SS - woah! Didn't know that you only just got it, I am envious!

Must admit, the games code is what i know better than the names in the game! lol. Got so used to working in it, i think by the ini names and not the games names.

oh look - there goes a bw_elite2 ship with a pair of missile01_mark05 launchers and some nice fc_ou_gun01_mark05 weapons!!

(sabre, two cannonballs and some Wyrms class 9 - although the wyrms i had to use FLED-IDS to get name of. I knew which gun it was, just couldn't remember the name that YOU lot know it as , only the ini reference names )

*edit* - whoops - only one sig per page - removed

Still play every day. Thank god for FL, because X2:The Bait and Switch pissed me off so much; i returned it.

FL is now in my eyes more awesome than ever.

I haven't played FL since October, but I did play it for hours a day at the exclusion of everything else from the week it was released. I almost certainly will go back and play it again at some point, and play it to death (again!)

gotta say, that without the mods and esp. FLMM, it would have gone back in the box 3 weeks after i finished it. My wife nearly cited Matthew "IGX89" Leider as co-respondent 'cos I spent sooooo much time playing FL!

X2 next, then Rome:Total War, and maybe Soldiers if it comes out this year. Possibly BF: Vietnam too.

but I'm afraid that since the Call of Duty beckoned, FL has (for now) been forgotten, although i have been frustrating myself with Panzer General III.

Ah... Call of Duty. it's just tops.
