What are you reading there?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

What are you reading there?

What is your favorite book/series for reading and when is your favorite time to read.

Left Behind series, and anything about computers and around bedtime.

I always read books in bed before going to sleep. I read fantasy books (Harry Potter Series, Lord of the Rings Series etc.), thrillers (Robert Ludlum, Tom Clancy, John Grisham etc.) and I read fanfiction (like Wing Commander stories and such). Occasionally I also read the magazines I'm subscribed to (like the Star Wars Fact Files).

That's about it for me

Fav time: before bed, while waiting, or on the train.
Fav books: anything set in feudal Japan, war epic stories, fantasy (LOTR trilogy), sci-fi action (Battletech novels). Tom Clancy can be good, but most his stories are corny and whiny. I wish his editors would grow balls and cut his text to 1/3 of the original script.

Currently reading: Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa, and Smart Mob by Howard Rheingold.

SciFi and fantasy. prefer the former, especially military. Usually I read at night, when everybody's gone to sleep and all time is mine.

I've just read Mastrs of doom, a great book about John Carmack and Romero

If life gives you lemons use them to squirk lemon juice in people's eyes and cheat.

before bed/when i'm feeling lazy
generally thrillers, fan fiction, to starcraft generally(used to, not anymore cause the books belonged to friend of mine who went back to korea) thrillers like nimitz class (which i have to return soon..) used to like harry poptter, but the latest one really put it down.its starting to rival taht of clancy's and about 50% of the plot appeared pointless to me.
[rantshe's starting to write like any anonymous fanfiction writer. argh. she just writes crap now. IMHO the 3rd book is the best by far, partly cause the bad guy doesn't show up and alot of history is revealed - and its straight to the point, with the most new developments in a griping manner. the ones that come after.. just crap.[/rant

Sh*t this reminds me! () I have to get a book for class by tomorow!

But besids that, most of sci fi is good. Authors, Stephen Baxter, Orson Scott Card, C. S. Friedman, and nat. Frank Herbert. Best book ever... The Madness Season (C. S. Friedman). It will drive you mad if you don't put it down once in a while.

"Maze of Death" by Phillip K Dick had a profound effect on me....so I guess that is probably one of my favourite books. Obviously I also got on well with the Hitchhiker series by the late great Mr Douglas Adams, but apart from that, I'm the first to admit that I don't get chance to read much.

My most recent favourite though was "High Fidelity" by Nick Hornby. I've never read a book before that reminded me so much of myself.

My favourite time to read is on the loo.

I've read too many books of too many genres to realy list a favorite anything axept author. David Weber. He writes mostly military SF of a very high quality (in my humble opinion). Basically I'm a natural speedreader and I go through books like water. The librarians at the closest library know me by name on sight. A 500-600 page book: 2 days if I have to work. The weekend: 1 day or less (depends on how good the book is). I've read at least thousands of books over my lifetime (not a joke).

My mind is full of useless information.
