meaning of life simply means being able to experience your existence for a period of time.

IMHO I think you're all thinking about it the wrong way...the meaning of life is not to be happy, or contented, or courteous to every living being....thats just something that we SHOULD DO with our lives. The true meaning of life lies in the question "why are we here"...and if after deliberating that question for a lifetime, your conclusion is "err...because there was these two particles right, followed by this big explosion..." then your meaning of life is going to be completely different to someone who concludes "err...well...to make a difference". I can say that neither are wrong....but I would also say that neither are right. Can you see where I'm going with this?

erm...is it that it's pointless trying to work out cos it's so damn complicated? Just a thought....
